Pick those peonies today ahead of all this rain! Peony buds and rain don’t get along. You can harvest anything that is “marshmallow stage” or further along. If you can squeeze the bud between your fingers and it feels like a marshmallow, it will open inside.

At the Flower Farm, we aren’t the only ones who love dahlias! To protect them from all our little garden friends who find them delicious, we use mesh bags instead of pesticides. We are friendly to the earth, the earthworms, and the insects alike!

Our 16-year-old set up 2 bee hives a mile and a half from our gardens last weekend. Bees can travel up to 5 miles for food, so I like to think this welcome visitor is one of his. Friend to the butterflies, friend to the bees!
