Boy when Facebook gives you all your data to download, they really mean ALL of it. This process is taking a good bit longer than anticipated. I promise I'm still on my way out the door but I figure I may as well take advantage of this little time I have left.

Hard to believe we've got TWO amazing breakbeat-focused parties come up - one in Milwaukee, and another closer to Madison!

Fri March 14 the one and only DJ Icey is returning to Milwaukee for the first time in a decade!! Bringing with him Florida breaks industry wizard Soltek and Florida-to-Chicago transplant Keith MacKenzie!! We're getting spring started a week early with the sunny vibes of these OGs' music. Gonna be such a dopeass time, and I get to go b2b with my good friend Charlie Otto - tickets on sale soon! I know I said i was on hiatus, but... you don't say no to Icey

Then Sat Apr 19 Keith is joining us again for the next iteration of Dance Party out in Lake Mills! I think birthday breakbeat things are gonna be a tradition from here on out - come get down with us as I bring in some of my favorite people for a night of breaks, house, and more! I decided what I want most is to just play music with my friends so instead of stressing to put together a set, we're just gonna open it up for an AME Breakbeat Power Hour to close out the night 😉

I've been playing both Keith and Icey's music basically since I started DJing, so I am incredibly excited to get to do basically back to back shows with these cats

I will be deleting my Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Spotify accounts sometime soon for good. I will be doing everything I can to not support companies that have supported Trump's re-election. It looks like going back to Discord and reddit is the move for social and promotional efforts as they've even banned pro-Trump servers in the past. I've also heard good things about Blue Sky.

I'll leave my accounts up for a little while longer in order to aggregate contact info from the people who care. I think I have most friends' phone numbers, but please feel free to message if you think I should have yours. Warning: this may result in the occasional text promo for my gigs.

I will work on re-familiarizing with our Discord server this weekend before I put the info out there.

I didn't really grow up on 90s/2000s hip hop, my mom listened to a little bit but it was mostly country and classic rock when I was a kid. Been getting into it more and more the past couple years and getting to the point where I want to build a collection and experiment with spinning it a little. But I swear I keep getting all these great tunes popping up and way too many I go to check the artist and it's Diddy 🤦‍♂️

I can't express to ya'll how much it means that so many of you showed out and danced last night! With only 2 weeks of promo so soon after NYE, I was not expecting a techno night not taking place in the main cities to go as well as it did! You guys rocked it!

This night was special to me because of the cultural history involved with the DJs and crowd. I'll be turning 30 this year, and I'm pretty sure all of the other DJs on this lineup have been DJing that long or longer. D-ON has inspired a whole generation of breakbeat lovers in Wisconsin by introducing it to dance floors in the state. Rainbow has been rocking it since the 90s and has been a longtime part of the Drop Bass Network support squad that laid the groundwork for the modern music festival. Tim Kasper was half of the iconic Techno Twins that rocked dance floors back in the day, and is a force to reckon with when it comes to flyer work lately. These are facts that i probably could have pushed in my rushed promotion efforts, but it didn't really all click until last night.

My main promotion help Koobz is a dubstep DJ (very not fond of techno) and wasn't intending on coming out, but he made the attempt and it was really cool getting to show him, this is where we come from. These guys are the reason we're doing this now. This sound that has now wormed its way into the mainstream is here because of the efforts of these talented selectors.

Thank you all for coming together to Respect the Roots. To make up for my burnt out lack of enthusiasm and preparedness for this party, I've already got the next one lined up for you. I'm taking the next few months off but I'll see you guys April 19!!
