Lily of the Valley... She’s dainty, elegant, fleeting, fragrant, delicate yet so unassuming, and tiny!! and she’s poisonous 🤦🏻‍♀️
She’s an expensive-ass cut flower, more so than peonies or orchids bc you need a lot of her and she is ridiculously short stemmed… the only reason I have any at the moment is because there’s a prolific amount of them right now growing like weeds in my mother’s garden - they make an excellent spring ground cover… she symbolizes purity, joy, love, sincerity, happiness and luck.

3 ways here:
- Mini Lily of the Valley: I’d double or triple that amount for a bridal bouquet) and it would still be for someone who wants something small and understated
- Spring Whites from the garden (with honeysuckle, narcissus, and azalea)
- White and Purple Lily of the Valley: with some drippy Chinese wisteria, columbines, begonia leaf and something else I can’t identify 🤨
- A stem with a quarter for reference.
- A quirky arrangement with all of it so we can enjoy them here at mom’s until they disappear.

After the first wedding of the year, I took my first horse trek holiday to Argentina. What better way to start the year?
On one of the days we made camp, we were in the valleys where the grass was lush and there were flowers blooming everywhere… I had time to make a haku from some foraged wildflowers for my girl, Bebe.

Epic Patagonia trek with made even better with capturing all the beautiful memories.

Happy First Day of Spring!! 🌺

Installations are my absolute favorite things to do. I love being able to share all the amazing florals with everyone to enjoy and to see people have fun!

This was a 7x9 wall done in several stages. It’s a more labor-intensive process but being able to work quietly and not be on the clock makes it feel really therapeutic and takes me back to my art school days when we just got work in our studios all day. It’s not just the flowering but the framing that I enjoy too, figuring out the mechanics and putting it all together. Along with ’s beautiful hand-lettered signage and florals from local growers, we made a really cool backdrop featuring butterfly-friendly florals to complement ’s butterfly experience for the event.

After the event, we moved it inside South Shore Market so that it could stay up a little longer for people to enjoy ❤️

Every couple I work with has their own unique style, helping them translate that into their wedding florals is what I do best! When people ask me what my style is, I’m like 🤷🏻‍♀️ my couples inspire me and since each one is different, the florals are too. It used to plague me throughout my design career (not just the flowers but in other areas) to feel like I had to have a signature look but after so much time and still not getting closer to it, I figure f* it - my tastes change every other day and its super eclectic. If anything it’s given me a design vocabulary that helps me in my work and hopefully in helping couples flower their day!

I picked up a few desserts from and they were decadent, delicate and of course delicious! The chef/owner makes them all herself and she runs the store as well. She carries miniature cakes and desserts and also does custom cake orders. I can only imagine what a wedding cake and a dessert table full of beautiful tarts, eclairs, and mousses could be bc her pastries give me Marie-Antoinette vibes 😍
if you’re in the Princeton-area, this little gem is worth the visit, I’ve made a few visits and have yet to try the panna cotta bc I’m always too late but these gorgeous cream-filled tarts are her new flavors and the tiramisu never fails.

So is it just me or do other floral designers struggle with negative space? Coming from a 2D background, I’m a total minimalist and I love white space, breathing room, etc.. but when I start w the flowers, I just want to fill it up with everything!
Designing in 3D is something else 😅
and slowly learning that it’s ok not to use every flower in the bunch, too. I only had 1 peony, otherwise.... 😬😬😬😬

Happy Momma’s Day to all the moms out there!
Flowers are just so especially meaningful for Mother’s Day and especially to me because it was my mom who imparted on me my love of flowers! We spent time together working in her garden, cutting roses and keeping Japanese beetles at bay - scoring free mulch and fresh manure was like winning the lottery 😂
She’s been a huge influence in my creative endeavors! Thank you momma for sharing your love of the arts with me!
