The Cactus Jack Foundation 2nd Annual Toy Drive is happening today until 5 pm at Southeast Community Church in Sunnyside.

We have hundreds of toys to give away to kiddos in the community so if you need toys, we can help!

Spent a beautiful Saturday morning race directing the Girls on the Run 5K. We ran at Rice University, finishing on the 50-yard line of the football field. Definitely a cool experience.

A few years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Terence W. Shaw, II when he interviewed for a scholarship program hosted by Positive Coaching Alliance. I was impressed with Terence’s poise, determination, dedication, and grit. He was a student-athlete, had excellent grades, and worked hard to be a success both on and off the field. I knew he would make an impact on the world one day.

Because of this, I wanted to fund his scholarship. Something I never intended on doing nor did I ever do again in the following years working with PCA. He made quite an impression on me. I told him then I hoped my two boys would grow up to be like him. And all these years later I still feel the same.

I received an update from Terence yesterday morning and it made my day. He is starting his medical school application journey and will be interviewing in October. His first medical manuscript has been peer-reviewed accepted. He is well on his way to a successful career in medicine and I could not be more proud of him.

I’m anxious to read his manuscript next spring after it is published in the US Army Medical Department Journal.

Congratulations, Terence, and thank you for continuing to update me on your achievements and accomplishments. You are a true positive force in the community!

This year, the 11th Annual Houston 9/11 Heroes Run coincided with the 20th anniversary of the attacks on America on 9/11/2001. To say there was a lot of emotion in the air would be an understatement.

This race is always a sight to see. Starting and ending at City Hall; thousands of people dressed in red, white, and blue, carrying flags or the gear of their fallen heroes; LEOs and firefighters in full turnout gear running, walking, and rucking; all of the different branches or our nation’s military represented on site; helicopter flyovers; bagpipers; and heroes as far as the eye can see. It’s incredible from start to finish.

Positive Force Consulting is honored to be a part of this event. Working with the is an amazing experience.

We will never forget those we lost on September 11th and will do everything we can to honor their memories.

After a very long 15 months, live racing is back!!!! Today was the 10th Annual Run to Attack Poverty and it was a huge success! Almost 400 runners joined together to celebrate 10 fantastic years of Attack Poverty and help raise money to support their important work in the Greater Houston area and around the world.

This is my third year directing this race and I’m honored to be a part of this amazing team.
