How it All Started...

It all started with a few phone calls from our site visitors inquiring about children's train theme birthday party items. TrainWeb at that time (in the year 1995) had few train merchandise such as videos, calendars and t-shirts for sale but nothing like kids train theme party supplies. We could not find any good online resource dedicated to just train party items. All that we could find was Thomas and Friends party favors and a few miscellaneous train toys but were all scattered throughout many online retailers. That triggered an idea of creating a centralized hub; an online specialty shop just for train theme party supplies, toys, gifts and novelties.

On February 07, 2003, TrainWeb purchased a new domain i.e. TrainParty.com specifically for launching kids train theme birthday party related products. We decided to leave TrainWeb.com as a railroad information portal and moved the old train merchandise to this newly acquired TrainParty.com website. Our business has grown quite a bit since 2003. We have went from a small website offering only a few train items to becoming the main online retailer for Train Party Supplies, Thomas the Tank Engine items, Railroad Hats and Whistles with other unique gifts and novelties.

Brick-and-Mortar to Manufacturing...

On August 1, 2005, we opened our first retail store in Fullerton, CA to better serve the local community living in southern California. In less than a year, our need for more space for inventory had grown beyond even our new larger facility. We could already see that our need for more and more inventory space was going to continue growing for the next few years. At the same time, we realized that we could save a lot on shipping costs and the speed of delivery if we were more centrally located in the nation. Thus began a search for a new larger facility centrally located in the U.S. that would handle our growth needs for the next several years.

So, on August 21, 2006, through direction from the Lord, Train Party moved to the city of La Plata in northeast Missouri. The company purchased land and two warehouse buildings. These two buildings have been completely remodeled giving us over 15,000 sq. feet of work space. Shortly after the move, Train Party made another major change, that of becoming a manufacturer for three train theme party supplies namely: Little Chug, Whistle Stop and Officially licensed Amtrak Train. The decision to manufacture our own train theme party line allowed us to offer products year around without any interruption.
