I took these photos of our sweet Caroline Christine in 2023 in our living room. Looking back, I can see how much I’ve grown as a newborn photographer since then and of course, I think of all the things I would do differently now in these images. Still, I’ll cherish these pictures forever.

It was a wild ride recovering from birth while also feeling the pressure to capture every pose, prop, and precious detail I could think of!

Now, my heart is so full as my business expands beyond photography into postpartum doula care and lactation support. It’s all rooted in love, personal experience, and a deep calling to serve families well.

Thank you for being here and following this journey with me. It means more than you will ever know. 💕

They say it takes a village! I will be honest. I hate that phrase! I don’t know about you, but I’ve had 4 births, and each one came with less help than the last one!

I recognize this. I see so many mamas that don’t have the support they want and need after baby. This was the driving force that propelled me into this field. A “village” can look like whatever you wish it to be. It may be just your spouse. It may be your spouse and your parents. However, it can also be you and your doula, or you, your spouse, and your doula. You get the idea! I would be honored to be a part of your village. I also offer virtual visits for lighter, more generalized care such as answering questions, offering suggestions, etc.

What is a Postpartum Doula and how can one help you? There are SO MANY benefits to having the help you need after having a baby. Below are just some!

Here is a small glimpse into what I do in my free time!

You are probably wondering why I am holding so many babies at once!

These are my "demonstration babies" for lactation/doula work (AKA reborn baby dolls) and yes, I did make them! Aside from photography, reborn dolls are a HUGE passion for me and an art I learned to do in 2020 during the pandemic. It took a few years before I felt "good" at it and I definitely have room to grow, but I love how far I have come in 5 years!

I am just glad they can start serving a higher purpose aside from just sitting in my house!

Important Announcement!

I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to officially share that Meranda Mowery Photography is now Meranda Mowery – Photography, Doula & Lactation support!

I have been so busy lately completing coursework and working on my new website to showcase exactly what services I offer!

This change reflects something that’s been growing in my heart for a while — a desire to serve families not only through the lens, but through support, presence, and care and it also opens the door for me to continue to make genuine connections in our community.

I'm still offering photography– Maternity, newborn, and family sessions. I will also still have mini-sessions and do senior sessions. I am no longer booking for weddings unless they are intimate and/or elopements.

🤰 Postpartum Doula Services – Emotional, physical, and spiritual support during that critical time after baby is born.

🍼 Lactation Support – Guidance and encouragement for your breastfeeding journey. This is something I feel so passionate about and I saw a HUGE need in our community for both doulas and lactation support! I am currently working toward my certification and expect to be a Certified Lactation Counselor by May 2025 pending the exam (I can book appointments for mamas with due dates in June and beyond).

🌻 I now have a studio space located in Clinton to accommodate newborn, toddler, and maternity shoots. More info on that soon!

I don’t share enough of my own family’s photos! My toddler was NOT having it! Lol We took these at the beautiful flower field where I had mini sessions this last weekend.

Those sessions have passed, but I am happy to schedule a full photoshoot here if anyone is interested! I would imagine the blooms will last at least another week!
