We go as far as retrieving ice for each event at Joey B so that there is no taste difference between your event cocktails & those I make at the restaurant! (I’m going to do an entire post on the importance of drink-grade ice in the near future)!

A hot day calls for cool cocktails. ☀️

The bride and groom were married in St. Lucia and came back home to celebrate their marriage with family and friends. The newlyweds were looking to pull some inspiration from their tropical getaway into their special day with us. We were thinking super cute cocktail napkins, skewers, and fresh fruits. Mother Nature stole the show though, by contributing the St. Lucia island weather right here in Pennsylvania!

Celebrating The Fontana’s on the MOST gorgeous wedding day there ever was. It was 78 degrees, sunny, and with the best little breeze to keep us all cool at this stunning farm venue. 💕

The has a beautiful rustic barn with the most magical twinkling lights strung. The ceremony space was on a lush hill side just outside of the barn, and there were two gorgeous horses roaming. The venue also features a beautiful home to rent along with their venue for your bridal party/family.

One of the perks of this mobile bar-lifestyle is getting to explore a bit and see new spaces. We’re so glad we were able to experience this stunning venue with the newlyweds!

(P.S. a >1-year in and I still can’t remember to take better photos, 🤨).

Pro tips for the viral chilled champs/Prosecco/wine ice bucket (because the included instructions were missing any real instruction…) from someone who first failed miserably.

1. Using distilled water, or water that is first boiled, & then chilled, will create a clearer ice bucket so that you can more clearly see your fresh florals & fruits.
2. Add your desired contents in 3 stages. Add some fruit/florals and add only 1/3 of the water. Allow that layer to freeze, then repeat two more times. Otherwise, the fruit & florals float to the top and all freeze in a large clump together.
3. When trying to remove the ice from the plastic mould, turn upside down (ice facing down) and fill the center using semi-cool water. Using hot water will in fact melt the ice too quickly and cause the bucket to crack. As will applying the warm/hot water directly to the ice. (See pictures).

In sum, just forget this ice bucket & pop the bubbly. If you’re enjoying yourself enough, you won’t need the bottle chilled anyway! 🍾

Refreshed our hydration station to fit the vibe. ✨

We started last year with our stock tank hydration station, and frankly, it was fugly. We gave her a new look yet maintained some of that classic silver, to match her big sister.

On occasion, we use our stock tank hydration station for self-serve canned brews as well. At one of our weddings, the guests put the bottle openers in the icy hydration station and it was an hour long game of everyone playing “bob for the bottle opener” (despite me having other bottle openers in the ‘stream and pleading with guests just to use my nice dry openers). It became a fun game of reaching near hypothermia for our drinking pals. The bottle caps from the ice cold brewskis were also literally everywhere (despite a trash can being a few feet away) because, well, intoxication.

We’re learning and improving. We now have two flamingo bottle openers, that will be attached by a string so we don’t have any bottle opener drownings. We also fastened a conveniently labeled cap catcher so we avoid having a messy venue.

Next up: drainage plugs for the station because quite literally it’s a monster to try and maneuver and drain once filled.

Anyone else newly engaged and stressed out? I have a new found appreciation for how difficult this process can be! 💍

I try to make the process of incorporating alcohol into your day as fun & creative as possible. If you have a crazy vision, share it! If you think you’re being too extra by wanting an espresso martini toast rather than a champagne toast, you’re not! If you cringe at the thought of someone using maraschino cherries in an old fashioned, same! (Team Luxardo allll the way).

I’m over here struggling because my favorite weddings this year were those that felt so curated. Among some of those that resonated with me the most were the backyard weddings that felt incredibly intimate and luxurious and with no cutoff time like you would experience at a traditional venue. Having a bar pull up to your house where you’ve transformed your space into a mini paradise is like no other. You can be your authentic selves and no one feels pressured by a timeline!

While I love the idea of a backyard soiree, or a customizable venue such as a barn, I also know myself. I’d be in the Airstream or behind a bar making drinks in my wedding dress, not letting anyone do the work for me.

With all of that being said, I now understand the struggle. The financial strain, the stress of wanting it to be perfect and timeless yet still authentic, and so much more. And I’m here for you. I’m here to create your go-to favorite on your special day, or to invent a new one. To manage expectations of how the day will work. To provide a full list of everything you’ll need so that nothing will be overlooked. Andddd maybe to have a side conversation about how you feel that your fiancé needs to have waters served to him between cocktails so that his one eye doesn’t droop in every photo.

If you know me, you might know that I discovered fresh snowfall to make the perfect frozen Margarita consistency a few years ago. To make your own, just grab a glass, fill her up with fresh snow, (make sure to avoid any margarita-colored snow that’s already in your yard), and create a marg! Orrrr you know, like a frozen iced coffee if you’re not trying to get drunk by 10 am. ❄️

I will be taking all of the bandanas to the shelter tomorrow so the pups can be taken to their furever homes in style! There are even some extra bandanas I’ll be sending along for future pups!

For each bandana purchased, a bandana was donated to the shelter + a few extras to ensure that pups of all sizes would be outfitted.

When one of the cutest guests at the wedding leaves an audio message knock knock joke. 🐓 This was just one of the many messages that genuinely made me laugh while I was putting the newlywed’s “Drunk Dial” voicemails together. For those that do not know what I mean by a “Drunk Dial”-it is our package (included with every mobile bar booking or as a stand-alone option) that allows your guests to leave you a voicemail during your event. Once the event concludes, I put all of the stored messages onto a USB and provide it to you, as the host or guest of honor, to listen to for years to come. When a couple rents the “Drunk Dial” package and you listen to all of the messages post wedding but one of the groomsman confesses his love for the bride. 🤦‍♀️ I’m a super nostalgic person. I have old voicemails on my phone from major life events and from family that’s no longer with me. A monophone resonated with me because it allows for guests to leave sweet (or ridiculous drunken) messages for the host of honor. Once the event concludes, the host will receive a USB filled with messages from loved ones. It’s an alternative to a guest book and it will leave you teary eyed (or absolutely shocked at the drunken audacity) when you listen back to all of your messages. We’re including our “Drunk Dial” package on all bar service packages free of charge for anyone who books with us through 2023. The package can be rented as an add-on to our bar services or, if bar services are not needed, as a stand alone package. It comes with the rental of our old school rotary phone, a table to set it on, a sign for displaying what the phone is and how to use it, and a USB filled with your memories.
