Found this while cleaning my transformation station today. I used to have this displayed on my face painting option as a gentle reminder for people. As a face painter, I can't tell you how many times I've seen kids anywhere from slightly disappointed to absolutely crushed that they were shamed or even scolded for asking to get a face painting that didn't fit the gender stereotype norm. I can say that this did spark a few light bulbs and opened some discussions, and helped to change some minds. My number one goal is to give the person in my chair a great experience. For THEIR eyes to light up when I show them THEIR reflection❤️ When someone would love to be a butterfly but is forced to get a Spiderman or another wants to get a fierce tiger but told they are obligated to be a unicorn because "thats what boys/girls do" it's hard to carry out the actual point of my job. To provide joy through art to the person I'm ACTUALLY painting in that moment❤️🖌🎨 props to the people in the photo, and the ones who let the kiddos decide, I see you! :)
