My sweet little spunky Gracie has been gone for four days. To say I miss her is an understatement. She was my shadow and eager ‘assistant’ with all my outside work. My precious and loyal companion. She wasn’t just a cat. I’ve never had a pet quite like her before. The past three years have been some of the hardest of my life…losing my relationships with all of my siblings (and their children) unexpectedly, the deep depression the whole situation threw me into, my brother-in-laws tragic death, etc etc…the pups made it to where I had to get out of bed every morning as they were still young and at that point we still had 8 of them. The loss has been hard, the animals have helped. Then Gracie came along and she was like the companion I had never had. She made my time in the garden a joy with her bounding energy and constant desire for love and being involved in whatever I was doing, even if she made the job so much harder. She helped ease the loss. I thanked God for that girl all the time. She was the most amazing little hunter (which is why we got the ‘farm cats’). She was my bathroom cat, since that’s where she slept and stayed after she was fixed and then for some weeks when she had a respiratory issue. She would always play with the water when I turned on the sink and try to get in the shower with me. We were close, so very very close. I keep looking outside hoping and praying that I’ll see her waiting under my car or sitting in front of the door asking to come in. It’s hard going out to the garden and not having her there.
One thing I haven’t mentioned on here is that we noticed the day after Gracie vanished that Milo has two wounds on the side of his neck and a graze mark on the other side. The vet said it looks like a large animal tried to get him but he got away. My mom went around and talked to neighbors and there’s a mountain lion roaming around that he’s seen. We praise the Lord that Milo is ok. Both the boys have been acting strange and didn’t want to be outside, so they’ve been staying safe inside the past couple of days. Not sure what to do to keep them safe.
Sigh…praying for a miracle…😔🙏🏼

💐Today I brought some flower arrangements down to camp meeting and made a couple custom orders too. 💐 The ranunculus season is about over and the fridge has a bunch of peonies in it, with the half a bucket of remaining ranunculus.

💐Getting ready to make bouquets for Cadillac Farmers Market tomorrow! If you want me to bring a bouquet for you, or to reserve on, contact me tonight as I’ll be making them soon. There will also be plenty there to choose from, but if you want a big one or a custom one, send me a message. Locally grown and Chemical free. 💐 This will most likely be the last week for the ranunculus and anemone. I have some Peonies, if you want one or more in a bouquet, contact me as I don’t put them in the bouquets for Farmers Market unless requested. 🌺🌷💐👩🏼‍🌾

Strawberry season means I eat strawberry shortcake just about every day 🍓👩🏼‍🌾 Its such a blessing growing them in the greenhouse as we get to enjoy them a month or so sooner than our ones outside. We just harvested our first picking of the outside berries and more are coming!
