This is the time of year for a visit....Cool at night, warm during the day....It is the time for camping also !.....Eggs, ostrich products and honey are still available.....The GIANT BIRDS ?..Well, they don't change...Just as incredible as ever !!...So treat yourself and the Family...Come on out and see one of Mother Natures wonders...OH, ....PS...Lou and Josh are back at it after a few rounds with the surgeons....Both are doing great...

Quick update......Lou and Josh are both up and back at it as we speak...Still have a few limitations but are back running the concrete pumps, so, If you have a need, We could sure use the work !......The Ranch is POPPIN' !....Lots of visitors and campers....This is THE time of year for a visit or to camp...Cool at night, warm during the day ....And the giant birds, Well , what can I say ....They are as amazing as ever.....Come on out and see for yourself one of Mother Natures wonders....Eggs and honey still available...

HAPPY LABOR DAY. This day is set aside for all of us working slobs out here...You know, those of us who get up everyday, Not just 9 to 5, but every damn day that something needs to be done..Those of us who dig the ditch, pound the keyboards, runs the offices and keeps the whole damn thing running...Without all of us average JOES and JANES the whole thing would implode..SO, heres to YOU...Enjoy YOUR day !!!....This is one Family of Giant Bird Farmers that is great full and is damn proud of you all..

UPDATE: Dad/Lou/Papa is out of the ICU, y'all! We hope to see him come home in a few days - just a few more steps to show he's rancher-strong! We want to thank all of you who have sent good vibes and healing thoughts, said prayers and well-wishes, made visits and donations, done rituals and made offerings, etc. We can't say thank you enough. You all make our lives better.

To Kevin the bartender and the Hyatt staff on campus, we thank you for your hospitality. And to the security guys and valets at Keck - thanks for helping us be there when we needed to and to be able to get out when they made us ;) We also want to say how grateful we are to USC Keck, the ICU nursing staff, and a special shout-out to our favorite doctors for their care and extra thoughtfulness, especially in making Dad's 71st Bday and Mom & Dad's 51st anniversary spent in the surgical ICU a decent day - MANY THANKS!

To our family - the blood we like and the friends we have chosen as such....Thank you....You know we couldn't do some of this stuff without your support and we're glad to have you on our side.

More updates to come, but hopefully typed up by a certain crazy couple you all know and love...

She did it !...She walks!..Today , Jacquie(aka) "Grammy' walked on her own. After 2 1/2 years and 7 surgeries, she actually was able to walk out to the kitchen , with the aid of a walker...Looking forward to getting Her life back....Can't put all of her weight on it yet but Drs. feel within 3 months she will be back in the pink....Big thanks to all who have supported us throughout this ordeal...Couldn't have made it without you...

Ok...It is a sad day as we have to announce that we will have No cherries for sale this year...As most folks know, Thanks to inaction by the County of Los Angeles, Us and a great number of our neighbors were wiped out in a flood caused by the bridge on Pine canyon...The Lawsuits and hard feelings continue and will be resolved someday ..We lost 500 trees originally and continue to lose more every day ...Have replace many but they take years to produce...We appreciate your patience and assure you We are doing our best to take care of our friends and families....
IN THE MEAN TIME, Please patronize our good friends at the Pine Canyon Cherry Farm...Located about a half mile East of us( toward Lake Hughes) Larry and Linda Lewis are wonderful folks who will take care of You...They appear to have a good crop and are in the same micro climate we are....This generates a better quality of cherry than any other place you will find....Our motto is "Taste test, Then decide" You will taste the difference...Good luck cherry picking and We hope to see you next year....As a quick side bar, We still have our wonderful , Local Honey and Ostrich eggs for sale...Come see us when you go picking and pick some up...We have a special going on for Fathers Day...

A big thank you and a look at the fruits of your labors..A year and a half ago , we were treated to the tail end of Hurricane Kay ...Several inches of rain in less than 20 minutes, on top of a nasty fire a year prior... The results were devastating , resulting in several feet of mud and debris flow over the entire ranch...Our back yard had over 5 feet of mud covering everything, including Grammy Jacquie's beloved rose garden....Our world was destroyed........And then, something miraculous happened.....Family and Friends stepped up and asked 'HOW CAN WE HELP ?" .....So many people doing so many projects ' It was just unbelievable.....With so many things to be thankful for and so very many People to thankful too, We cannot begin to list them all....We decided to thank EVERYONE one more time and to pick one event that exibits the spirit of what was done and the amazing people that helped to 'Stand Us Back Up'....
About 3 or 4 days after the flood, We had been able to remove a lot of debris and dirt in the back yard and were able to get into the house with ease....Jennifer Stewart showed up and said ' What do you need done ?"....I told her , we would love to try and dig out the roses and attempt to save them....She and others immediately went to work digging and cleaning....I remember seeing this wonderful lady sitting in the dirt digging and cleaning each branch of every rose bush by hand....I will never forget that sight as It exemplifies the spirit and tenacity of each and every person who helped.
The posted photos show those same roses today.....To Jen and EVERYONE of YOU who helped, Thank you....".This Modelo's for You" or in your case, Jennifer" THIS CABERNET SAUVIGNON is for you "Young Lady...
We will never forget and will always be there for you...EVERY ONE OF YOU...

Update on Jacquie....Grammy update...It's been quite a while since we updated you all on Jacquie's progress....We didn't want to bore everyone as we all have our problems as life continues to happen but many have inquired so here goes...Back in Nov. 2023 She had a total ankle fusion to try and kill the pain ...You can see from the first photo that a total "Western Auto Hardware Store "was installed for stability....Now after 6 months, because of continuing pain and suffering, yesterday the doctors at Keck Hospital took most out and re-inserted 2 new screws...The second photos show what is now present....This should finally be the end of it and give our Girl some relief...She is doing pretty well but it still is very sore....No weight on it for 3 weeks then ease back into life....We are all hoping that this surgery finally gets Her back on Her feet so She can continue Her life...Just know that We appreciate all the support over the last 2 1/2 years....Life May kick "The SUNSHINE GIRL"but it will never keep Her down..
