Thank you to our friend Layla Milholen for introducing us to Pixels On Paper Photography. This wonderful husband-and-wife team at Pixels On Paper Photography generously donated their time and talent, capturing the entire event for FREE. We can't wait to share more photos with you all soon—so be sure to stay tuned!

We're hollering from the mountaintops! With just three weeks of planning to make this event happen, we pulled it off! We had a goal of not only raising funds, but to also uplift the spirits of our community. I think we accomplished both! We are proud to announce, after expenses, we raised $𝟐𝟐,𝟐𝟓𝟎! These funds are going directly to three nonprofits that are boots on the ground, directly supporting those in need here in Ashe who were impacted by Hurricane Helene.

A HUGE shout-out to my left-hand (I'm left-handed), late-night brainstorming volunteer assistant, Micaela Bryn, for all those sleepless nights and early mornings spent tossing ideas around and getting things DONE! And a massive thank you to Micha Tucker for her endless hours running errands and just generally being a rock throughout this whole thing. Couldn’t have pulled it off without these two amazing ladies!

Old Barn Winery for the beautiful venue. The owners Greg & Robin Sexton were so kind to let us use their property as if it was our own. Carlee (the manager) and staff were also a pleasure to work with and handled the event like pros!

The hilarious MCs, "Those Other 3 Guys" – Andy Guion, Sherman, and Chris Miller – who kept us laughing and the show rolling without missing a beat!

The board and many volunteers of Lansing’s Bridge To Recovery! Colleen Feeney for baking delicious cookies for us to sell. Jared & Wendy at Craft Bistro for allowing us to sell out of the food truck. And to all the other volunteers who helped run the food sales. We sold over 300 bbq sandwiches & Bert's beans and over 80 cookies! ALL proceeds went towards this cause.

This piece was created for Winford Barr, who grew up in West Jefferson before moving to Alaska. Winford discovered a unique railroad tie with a railroad spike during his travels. He brought this remarkable find to Stephen Shoemaker, who captured its story in a stunning painting.

Here’s another exciting item for the Jammin' for the Mountains silent auction:

A beautiful mountain dulcimer crafted by Bill Neely in 1986. It was crafted for a client of his, Stephen Rydell. Bill was renowned for his exceptional instruments, particularly his mandolins, guitars, & dulcimers. With 33 years of experience building instruments, Bill was not only a master luthier but also a skilled bluegrass musician from Damascus, VA. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2014, this dulcimer is a true piece of musical history.

We’ve got some serious surprises up our sleeves! How about a custom-made 𝐖𝐚𝐲𝐧𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 mandolin up for grabs in our silent auction during Jammin' for the Mountains?

For those of you who don’t know (shame on you!), Wayne Henderson is a world-famous luthier and flat-finger guitarist, who lives just 30 minutes up the road from West Jefferson, NC. His instruments are so coveted, you’ll probably need to get on a waiting list just to look at one. Seriously—he now only builds up to 20 guitars a year, and the wait is five years for him to build one for you! So yeah, this mandolin is a big deal.

The bidding starts at 11:00 AM and ends at 5:30 PM during the event. There will be a private reserve, so don’t even think about lowballing us. All the proceeds will go to a good cause, the three nonprofits we're supporting, who are directly helping those affected by Hurricane Helene right here in Ashe County. So, get your bids ready, and let’s make some beautiful music (and help some folks in need)! 🎶
