We enjoyed collaborating with our local event pros on the Sparrow 24 Karat Gala last night. We shared the catering task for 700 guests with the team at Sparrow FNS who did an amazing job! Late night pizza provided by Slice, and there was a local sushi place (sorry missed the name!) rolling sushi to order, and a bartending service pouring drinks. Events to Rent handled all the decor and design. Rodney Page aka “the guy with the violin” provided the entertainment.

Lansing is a smallish market in the event world, so one vendor pulling this off would be extremely difficult. I’m grateful for the small businesses and industry relationships we’ve cultivated in our town.

A successful collaboration of Morton’s Fine Catering and Professional Party Planners for a pre State of the State reception for 1000 guests! That’s a lot to produce on an extremely busy day, so we joined forces to make it happen for our client.

Chef Kevin Cronin needs our help. He is battling a second round of colon cancer and is unable to work. When we first started our catering company and John was a young chef, Kevin was the Executive chef at Dusty's Cellar in Okemos. He was someone we admired, and was known as the best chef in the Lansing area. We always felt he set the bar for fine dining in Lansing, and it was our goal to be as well known and respected. Fast forward 14 years, Kevin joined our team at Morton's Fine Catering!

3 years ago, he was diagnosed, had surgery to remove cancer, had complications and went through 6 months of Chemo. In July 2023 he was rediagnosed with Cancer in the same area. He's sold his home, credit cards are maxed out and savings are gone. He is not eligible for disability or food stamps and is looking at losing everything.

Morton's Fine Catering, Saddleback BBQ, and Dusty's Cellar are co-hosting a fundraiser to benefit Kevin and his family during this difficult time. 100% of the money raised will go to him. Join us for some great food and wine at Dusty's Cellar to support our friend.
