A nice healthy pour of the Foursquare Exceptional Cask 2009 Aged Rum puts a smile on!

Barbados- Mark XVII from Foursquare Rum Distillery. A single blended rum, aged for 12-years in Ex-Bourbon casks. No color, sugar, additives, or filtration. Rich and assertive character with notes of dark cherries, cranberry, orange peel, caramelized pineapple, and dried peach.

DAKABEND OAXACA BLANCO RUM
POT STILL, FROM MEXICO
This unique rhum agricole is distilled from fresh high-mountain cane juice using traditional hand methods at the Tosba artisanal mezcal distillery.
Harvested in local mountainside plantings near the remote pueblo San Cristóbal Lachirioag at 3800 feet in Oaxaca’s rugged Sierra Norte, the intensely-flavored sugarcanes are crushed immediately for hand-distillation in a wood-fired mezcal potstill. Rich flavors and aromas are beautifully purified and concentrated in this terrifically appealing small-batch rum. Pure, fresh, smooth, and very easy to drink.
The result is rum unlike any other in the world: fresh, clean and vibrant on the palate with robust flavors of cane grass and a nose full of umami.

DAKABEND ANEJO 4 YEAR
Beautifully distilled fresh cane juice from local plantings using artisanal methods on the Mezcal Tosba still. 4 years in barrel. Very rich. One barrel only; the other two are being saved for a solera.

PLANTATION BARBADOS 5 YEARS

American oak barrels play host to this rum where it ages for three to four years. Next a woody and nutmeg palette is drawn out in Ferrand French oak casks as the rum continues to mature for one to two years.

The result is a subtle and tropical Barbadian style rum, excellent for aperitifs or classic cocktails like the Mai Tai.

The opening nosing round is all about baking shop fragrances, but also pipe to***co, toasted marshmallow; secondary whiffs after further aeration discover bacon fat, black raisin, prune.

Entry is bittersweet, roasted; midpalate is engagingly toasty, nearly fruity, as in baked orchard fruits, and resiny. Finishes medium long, chocolaty.

DISTILLERS
Back at the distillery, we ferment the fresh sugarcane juice using a special yeast and distill it into rum with our handmade, copper pot still. We distill at a low 50-75 ABV (alcohol by volume), which makes an uncommonly flavorful spirit. This slow, careful process makes a sensuous and exceedingly rare rum that showcases the magnificence of the kō. Awards include a Gold Medal from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the Top 100 Spirits of 2022 from Wine Enthusiast magazine, as its highest rated white rum.

We take our beautiful Hawaiian Rum Agricole and age it in ex-Cognac and Bourbon barrels to use it as the magic in our world-class blends.
