🎙️ TALK ABOUT IT THURSDAY: THE REALITY OF HOMELESSNESS IN LAS VEGAS 🏙️💔

🚨 BREAKING: Southern Nevada just hit the highest number of unhoused individuals in a DECADE.
According to a new interagency census, 7,906 people in our city are experiencing homelessness—up 20% from last year.
That’s nearly 8,000 of our neighbors without a stable place to sleep. 🛏️🚫

We HAVE to talk about this.
This isn’t just a statistic—it’s a crisis. A humanitarian issue. And it impacts every single one of us. 😔

💬 The Las Vegas Review-Journal asked: “What’s your solution?”
Here’s OUR answer: Community. Compassion. Action.

💡 Real inclusion means supporting EVERY member of our community—including the ones who are unseen, unheard, and unhoused.
Whether it’s job support, mental health services, addiction recovery, housing access, or just a warm meal and conversation—we need a system that helps, not just shelters. 🏠👐

And YOU can help make a difference.

🎤 Talk About It Thursday: Let’s Talk Ethics in ABA 🚨

Las Vegas, it’s time we ask the big questions—

What does ethical care really look like?

Who’s benefiting when big ABA chains move into our neighborhoods?

Is it the kids… or the corporations?

🧩 As a BCBA, an advocate, and a mom—this one’s personal.

We’re watching ABA companies open shiny new centers while families wait MONTHS for evaluations.

While RBTs are overworked and unsupported.

While parents are left in the dark with no transparency.

And that’s called progress?

Nah. Not here. Not in Vegas.

💡 Ethical care means:

✔️ Respecting neurodivergent voices
✔️ Prioritizing relationships over billables
✔️ Providing real training & supervision
✔️ Keeping the community at the center of everything

🌟 WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY: WHEN CLINICAL INTEGRITY GETS YOU FIRED 🌟

🔥 And what we’re doing to build something STRONGER. 🔥

I didn’t get fired for slacking.

I didn’t get fired for misconduct.

I got fired for SPEAKING UP.

For asking Proud Moments ABA to do what they promised—to center client dignity, support their staff, and lead with ethical clinical care.

Instead, I got shut down, pushed out, and silenced.

But this isn’t a pity party.

This is a WAKE-UP CALL.

When behavior techs and BCBAs are afraid to speak up,

When parents feel dismissed,

When clients become billing hours instead of little humans—

That’s when we say ENOUGH.

I’m still here.

And now I’m louder.

And I’m building Vegas Stronger Together to make sure families, therapists, and neurodivergent folks have a space that doesn’t tolerate silence in the name of profit.

Because ABA should never be about protecting a brand.

It should be about PROTECTING KIDS.

Supporting families.

Elevating our communities.

To Proud Moments ABA

Do.

Better.

We are watching.

And we’re done being quiet.

To the families who’ve been ghosted,

To the techs who’ve been ignored,

To the clinicians walking the ethical line with no backup—

A Neurodivergent BCBA Speaks Out

💥 I’ve worked in ABA for years. I’m a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I’m a single mom. And I’m neurodivergent—just like the clients I serve.

So WHY have the last two companies I worked for:

❌ Cut my hours for speaking up about ethics
❌ Withheld my pay and PTO
❌ Retaliated when I asked for transparency
❌ Ignored urgent therapy needs for MY daughter
❌ Documented my concerns as "behavioral issues" instead of listening

➡️ If you’re going to serve neurodivergent kids, you better stop silencing neurodivergent professionals.

➡️ If you’re billing Medicaid, you better provide services that match what you're charging for.

➡️ If you care about kids, start treating RBTs and BCBAs like they matter.

🔥 I’m DONE being quiet.

🔥 I’m DONE with gaslighting and greed.

🔥 I’m READY to build something better with the community we deserve.

🚨URGENT: WE ARE BROKE. COMPLETELY & UTTERLY BROKE🚨

We are reaching out to our community with a desperate plea. Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League is at a breaking point. We are currently caring for 92 animals, and our resources have completely dried up.

Adoptions are at an all-time low. The animals are waiting, but the homes are not coming. Donations have dwindled to almost nothing. We rely on your generosity, and even with the help of our most loyal supporters, it's just not enough to keep us afloat right now. We are critically short on foster homes.

We are overflowing, and soon won't have anywhere to place our animals that dont have a foster home. Ten of our dogs are currently in boarding, which is costing us a staggering $1,500 per week 😭

This is a real crisis - we cannot sustain this. We are facing the very real possibility of being unable to pay for the boarding of our 10 dogs there and we fear the day they get evicted is coming soon 😭

We are in dire need of IMMEDIATE help.

We need to raise $5,800 to cover the next 30 days of boarding for these 10 dogs. This will buy us precious time to find them foster homes or, even better, their forever families. If they get evicted from boarding because we can't pay the bills, they'll have no where to go. This means we will be forced to make terrible decisions about their outcomes. We fear the worst 😭

PLEASE - We are begging! Donate NOW! Every dollar counts. Please, even a small donation can make a huge difference. If we rally together as a community, we can buy our dogs the time they need!
