Last night the sun officially set on an institution in Lawrence. Gone are the days of roaming the shelves of the Liberty Hall video store. You'll still be able to rent titles from the venue. How much data storage do VHS transfers take up?

The typical VHS holds up to 2 hours of footage. One half hour of footage typically takes up about 360 MB of data storage. Each client receives one USB drive with their footage included in the base package. One USB holds about 22 hours of footage, or about 11 full tapes. Exact storage values can vary.

Step 6 of 6: Delivery and Product Distribution

At the end of our process, clients will receive an email with their invoice which they can pay the remaining cost with their preferred payment method. After payment, we do a quick drop-off of your tapes and flash drive and clients will receive a link to a Dropbox folder with all of their footage. (Client footage is removed from our Dropbox 30 days after delivery so be sure to download or save footage on that time period.)

Having some troubles with Dropbox?

You are not alone! Everyone has a different level of comfort with technology, and some of our clients have never used Dropbox before. We’re here to help!

Using the link you receive, you can open a folder with all of your footage files. You can download them all at once by pressing “download”, or press the “…” on an individual file and press “download’”.

If you click “Save to My Dropbox”, you may be asked to buy more space on Dropbox. This is not necessary because Matty D Media sends digital files at no cost to the customer.
