FLOAT AWAY AND JOIN THE CIRCUS!
We are looking for a performer or two to join us on the last section of our tour from Evansville, IN to Paducah, KY from Sept 23-30. And we are also possibly looking for one cast member who can join for our WHOLE tour from Pittsburgh to Paducah (August 9 to Sept 30, including rehearsals.)

Flotsam is a troupe that performs on a makeshift wooden pontoon boat for audiences gathered on the shore. We've been active since 2019 and just completed our biggest trip down the Mississippi last summer. For 2024 we'll be traveling on the Ohio River from Pittsburgh to Paducah. We're looking for someone with strong circus skills and a background in clowning or theater. We're already pretty heavy on aerialists. Some possible skills that could be fun to incorporate could be contortion, foot juggling, object manipulation, sword swallowing, or really any crazy skill that could be cool on a boat! Musical skills and experience with carpentry or boats are all plusses. BIPOC and/or LGBTQ performers are especially encouraged to reach out.

It isn't the cushiest gig - we travel, cook and live on the boat and in a converted school bus. Historically, pay has been about $250 per show, and we perform most days. Overall, it's a pretty magical project with a pretty terrific crew - and floating down the river and being welcomed by so many different towns is kind of the best thing ever.
