Google released a new update for search engine optimization last week (August 25th) and would take up to two weeks to complete. The update is aimed at improving the quality of content that comes up in search engine results. It means that this update will reward content that meets visitors’ expectations. Google wants personable, real content over content that is targeted for SEO ranking.

For some marketers, this sounds like the sky is falling as they have built pages and written content for best SEO targeting. If the content is too SEO focused and doesn’t give the reader unique, valuable and authoritative insights to answer their questions then they may see web traffic drop.

As a marketing company, we have always considered the story of our clients above just creating pages and blogs that build ranking for a website. We believe the brand and story matter and will bring the best customer experience.

It's good to check your organic traffic to see if you have had any changes. At the moment, most people think nothing has changed and that Google released a lot of words and not much actual changes. Time will tell in the next few weeks and months. But what is true - digital marketing content is continuing toward personable, story-driven marketing that is built on trust and community.

is much more than just colors and a logo. You need to be communicating much more through your brand. What is your story? How does your business communicate? What is the brand personality? There's verbiage, language and culture all wrapped up into your brand.

Really before you start creating a you should be thinking about and answering all of these questions and more.

A logo is not the brand. It's a symbol that points to your brand. It's a reminder. A logo is a reference tool that should evoke a memory, moment, event, or emotion from any contact that a person might have had. A unique logo is the cherry on top to a well thought out brand.
