Good Afternoon 4-H Families,

As a Board of Directors initiative, Loudoun Fair and Associates, Inc. is sponsoring an educational trip to the Pennsylvania Farm Show on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Loudoun Fair and Associates is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation which owns and maintains the Loudoun County Fairgrounds, oversees the Fair Committee and partners with other entities to facilitate youth agriculture education and family/consumer sciences.

Who: Loudoun County Fair youth club exhibitors and their parent(s), Fair Committee & Staff, Board of Directors members, spouses.

When: Saturday, January 4th, 2025

Deadline for seat reservations is Monday, December 30, 2024.

Trip goers are encouraged to keep an eye out for ideas, entertainment, vendors, and features to bring back for discussion at the youth club and Fair Committee levels and for possible inclusion into future Loudoun County Fairs. While not required, riders are encouraged to sport their club attire to encourage networking and/or conversation starters with other show attendees who may also be at the show.

The PA Farm Show is arguably the largest farm show in the mid-Atlantic region sporting 14 acres under-roof with various events, exhibits and displays. There is no admission cost, however attendees should bring their own lunch and spending money for the trip. More information may be found at

Pennsylvania is proud to host the largest indoor agricultural exposition under one roof in the nation.

Blue Ribbon Showcase.. Loudoun County Fair
The fair hosted the Judging School Virginia on November 2nd. The goal of the school is to certify fair judges in various areas of expertise and provide a reliable resource for all county fairs in Virginia. Macine Williams from Caroline County Agricultural Fair administers the program and discussed the ethics of judging during the training. The one day session had 20 registered apprentice or certified judges who were trained in subject areas such as photography, quilts, food preservation, dried foods, cakes and baked goods. The school also provided all participants with boxed lunches from Honey Baked Ham in Leesburg, a 2024 sponsor of the Blue Ribbon Showcase. In 2024, judging for our Blue Ribbon Showcase included 7 certified judges from the Judging School Virginia.

It’s that time of year! Time to sign up as a sponsor of the Loudoun County Fair!!! The fair is run by volunteers and receives no tax dollars. The fair proceeds are used to maintain the fairgrounds so Loudoun 4Hers have a place to meet and learn during the year and then show their projects during the summer. If you don’t know what 4H is about, contact the VCE Loudoun office! It’s a great program for our youth in Loudoun! If you are a realtor, small business owner, work for a corporation or anything in between, please talk to me about becoming a sponsor! If you want to volunteer on the committee, let me know - we always need volunteers!!
