'CHILL OUT FOR A CAUSE' CHILI COOK-OFF & AUCTION TO BENEFIT PETE BROYLES & FAMILY

CLARKSTON - From 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, Riverport Brewing will host their second annual 'Chill Out For a Cause' Chili Cook-Off & Auction, with all proceeds from this year's event going to benefit Pete Broyles and his family.

On August 10, Broyles, who owns Riverport Brewery, suffered a stroke that turned everything upside down for him, his wife of 32-years Nancy, and their two kids. Pete's recovery is ongoing. His home has had to undergo some remodeling for wheelchair access and there are multiple medical bills and many out of pocket expenses for his recovery journey.

The event will feature chili testing (by donation), a booze board, live music and both a Live & Silent auction.

The Chili Cook-Off is open to all ages, and costs $20 per team to enter. Cooking of the chili is to begin no earlier than 7:00 a.m. on November 5 and MUST be cooked on-site.

Those interested in contributing to the cause can do so by donating an item for the auction or by becoming a t-shirt or keg sponsor ($200). Just email [email protected]

CREATIVITY LOCALIZED PRESENTS 1ST ANNUAL RENAISSANCE FAIR TO TAKE PLACE OCT. 22 AND 23

LEWISTON - Creativity Localized is hosting the area's 1st Annual Renaissance Fall Festival Fundraiser at Hells Gate State Park on Oct. 22 and 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. The event is free, and park admission applies.
There will be events on the hour, every hour, as well as a king & queen competition, royalty dance, actors and food by Ho'okipa's Teriyaki Hut and Dad's Hotdogs. There will also be family-style games, the chance to become a knight in dueling combat, eating contests, a pumpkin patch, vendor fair and more. Attendees should bring cash for shopping, games and food. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the event is on the grass lawn.
