for this week’s edition of Fan Friday, we would like to highlight the amazing Rhaelynn Marie Baxter! You can find Rhaelynn dancing at the Goodwin Brothers concerts (which happens to be one of her favorite hobbies) usually to her favorite GB song “Barefoot Girl”! Her favorite colors are “all the bright ones”, which we feel is especially apt considering how bright her future is! Thanks for reminding us to always keep our spirits free and our colors bright Rhaelynn!

It was bound to happen that five of the finest bluegrass musicians in the world - Josh Williams, Don Rigsby, Ron Block, Mike Anglin and Adam Haynes - would eventually band together, appropriately namedSouthern Legacy, and take the performance of bluegrass music to a whole new level.

From the Bluegrass State of Kentucky, Josh Williams is the guitar player for Rhonda Vincent & The Rage. He is a three-time IBMA guitarist of the year, who recently released a solo album “Modern Day Man.”

Don Rigsby, a fellow Bluegrass State native, is a living legend in bluegrass music. A Grammy-winning producer, he is well-known as a world-class singer, mandolin player, and recording artist.

Multi-instrumentalist Ron Block is a longtime member of the Grammy-winning band Alison Krauss and Union Station. Ron has recently released his fourth solo album, “Hogan’s House of Music.”

Bluegrass bass guitar player Mike Anglin was born into a musical family, also from the Bluegrass State. Mike took to the guitar early, and by age 15 was playing bass professionally. He loves it all – upright and electric bass, stage or studio performing.

Steve Thomas is a Nashville-based singer, songwriter, arranger, and producer. Steve is also an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, proficient on fiddle, guitar, and mandolin, as well as bass and banjo. He has worked with The Osborne Brothers, Jim and Jesse, The Whites, Aaron Tippin, Barbara Mandrell, Kenny Chesney, Brooks and Dunn, John Michael Montgomery, Montgomery Gentry, Lee Ann Womack and more!!

Bluegrassgruppen The Goodwin Brothers från östra Kentucky släppte nyligen sin nya skiva ”If You Hadn't Noticed” utgiven av Pinecastle Records. De tio låtarna är prov på bröderna Jonathan och William Goodwin samt Chase Bush fulla potential. Det första smakprovet på ny musik från The Goodwin Brothers kom tidigare i år i form av singeln ”Everyday Thing". Efter att låten släpptes har den spelats flitigt på radiostationer som spelar traditionell countrymusik i allmänhet och bluegrass i synnerhet.

Vad mer kan du förvänta dig att höra på ”If You Hadn't Noticed?” Ja från början till slt deras urtjusiga fina trestämmiga sång. Som till exempel på up-beat-låten "Down To The Mill" skriven av Tim Stafford och Thomm Jutz. Deras egenskrivna ”Don't Need Cuttin'" är kanske det bästa exemplet på bandets mångsidighet då låten tydliggör att en bluegrass-sång kan framföras på ett modernt sätt. Skivan innehåller också några gripande ballader som "Fall Of The Year" som tål att spelas på repet. Spåret har också fungerat som inspiration till skivans titel och drar en linje mellan de skickligt skrivna texterna som löper som en röd tråd genom hela skivan.

for this week, we would like to highlight Stormy Crushing! After a debilitating car accident at 17 years old, Stormy was left in a coma for several months. Her physicians most optimistic outlook would assume Stormy would remain in a vegetative state.. However, through many uphill battles during her recovery, Stormy persevered! You can now find her at the very front of many of our shows! Stormy, an avid music lover and writer herself, shows us that with faith and determination, anything is possible! Thank you for being an honorary Goodwin Sister!

Debbi has a truly incredible story that we wont share in its entirety here, but what we can say is that her battle with her personal (and family) health issues and VICTORY over them has given us hope that with perseverance and determination, you can accomplish anything! Debbi has 4 children, and has been an avid music lover for many years! We are very thankful for having such a spirited fan that serves to inspire us to keep fighting, and of course, to keep playing music 🎶
