Ali Shaw is the Production Director for KJMM-FM, KGTO-FM, and host of “The Weekend Rewind with Ali Shaw” Saturday mornings on 105.3 KJamz in Tulsa. Affectionately dubbed “Mama Tulsa” in the local music scene, her passion for the art radiates throughout the community. tention is to shine a light on local women emcees and curate more women-centric events in the Oklahoma Hip Hop scene. Ali believes that through hard work and determination, we all have the capability to achieve our goals. She strives to be excellent in life and wishes to set a good example for her family, friends and listeners. Ali’s extensive on-air radio experience and strong relationships with artists and community leaders make her an asset on the Fire in Little Africa podcast host team.

40 years ago today, Prince and the Revolution released the third single and title track from ‘Purple Rain.’ 🎤💜

The song was initially intended to be a country collaboration alongside Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks but she admitted to feeling to overwhelmed by the 10 minute instrumental to write to it.

Released three months after the film soundtrack, the single quickly climbed the charts to peak at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, in the last four decades, “Purple Rain” has not only been considered a classic record but one of the signature songs in Prince’s catalog.

THE FINAL BOW. 10th Sept 2024
We want to share this photo of our brother Tito from our final show together, at Circus Krone, Munich, Germany. The venue was chosen as it’s where we first performed in the city back in 1972. We stayed in Michael’s favourite hotel, and just before the show we spent time at Munich’s memorial to Michael. We performed on 10th September, the exact same date as our final performance with Michael in Madison Square Gardens in 2001. We will always deeply miss you both.
