In 2016 I moved to Lincoln from sunny, Southern California. I willing left my family, friends, and my professional event clients and contacts that I had built over my very long career in events to start a new chapter in the Midwest. Crazy, right? Starting from scratch in events in a new market in my early 40โs??!! Who does that? This girl!
I started almost immediately at the Lincoln Journal Star as their Event Specialist. As a one-woman crew, I loved the rush of coordinating, executing and even creating new community events. I met so many wonderful small and medium sized business owners through events like Lincolnโs Choice Awards, Inspire, Holiday Cooking Showcase, Thrive! Expo and many other events. It was during the first Inspire that I coordinated in 2017, that I became aware of so many AMAZING women and their philanthropic efforts. I also, had the benefit of reviewing submissions by local Lincoln non-profits that were women run. The passion and drive to serve the community by these women was truly AMAZING! These companies had very little marking or advertising budgets (if any) and were so grateful and appreciative for any exposure our event could bring to their cause. It truly inspired me and became the catalyst to launch LUXX Events in 2018.
I wanted a corporate event planning business that not only could pull off large scale events like trade shows, conferences, fairs & festivals, and consulting work (like I was used to doing my entire career), but be nimble enough to help small businesses with custom events that built brand loyalty. It also had to have a charitable component that helped non-profits navigate the event world and build a solid foundation that they could easily replicate year after year once shown the blueprint.
Even though LUXX Events, LLC is a for profit company, and we love our corporate and small business clients, we know we can always do more to help our community. Thatโs why we created the LUXX Give Back Program. Each year we select 1-2 local small or start up charities to help guide them through putting together an annual event plan, help execute events, understand event budgets, using social media to boost attendance and fundraising streams of revenue.
