Bob Yerina passed away last month. Bob was a Little Falls, NY, garlic grower who was the expert grower among our festival's founders. He had been one of the founders of Saugerties, NY's festival and along with about seven other local garlic growers, decided that Little Falls could also host a garlic festival. Here we are twenty-two years later, and our festival draws visitors from many other states and has helped the economic development of Little Falls in countless ways. His son, Frank, helps us host our event and continues to pass on his dad's knowledge of garlic growing in the Mohawk Valley. We will miss you, Bob.

2022 Best in Show! Did you know? Every year our volunteer committee wanders the festival grounds talking with and helping our visitors. While we are doing that, we check out all of the carefully curated vendors’ booths. We then make the hard decision who wins the Best in Show award. Congrats to last year’s winner, Zen Day Vibes. This artisan set up a beautiful booth!

Follow your nose and the shuttle bus signs to the 20th Annual Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival. Handicapped parking is available at the Rock Valley Brewery. There are also two accessible shuttles running all day, in addition to two school bus shuttles. Note: Traffic on West Mill Street is limited to shuttles, handicap permitted vehicles and Poker Run motorcycles only. Do not use West Mill Street to enter the festival. Enjoy the shuttles and Eat, Stink and Be Merry!

Free horse and carriage rides at the Mohawk Valley Garlic & Herb festival on September 9th. You will find Scott Case and his beautiful horses over the bridge at Benton's Landing. Herbs? Not just garlic? We celebrate herbs because garlic is defined as an herb. So useful, so beneficial, so pungent, and so beautiful. While you are at the festival, you can talk with any of our vendors who make herbal food products, herbal medicinal products, grow plants and flowers, and use herbs and plants in their art, in addition to chatting with garlic growers. Our vendors are carefully curated to bring their knowledge, skills and their amazing products to you, our festival visitor. Eat, Stink and be Merry!

Garlic.Band will be joining us for the first time this year, leading off with their toe-tapping sound. Local musician Ari Marucci will add her special flavor to the event as our wandering minstrel again this year. Annie & the Hedonists will be back to help us celebrate our 20th year! They will get you out of your seat and dancing. Rain or shine, it will be a Stinkin' Good Time!

20 years! For a full listing of this year’s vendors, visit mvghf.com. Special shout out to those “founding father” families still bringing their garlic to our market. We appreciate the Guardi, Hugick and Yerina garlic growers and are thankful for the Badger, Boepple, Bowne, and Reese families for their vision for our festival. Just look at us now!! (Comment below because I think I’ve missed a couple of those first few farmers who pulled into our parking lot way back in 2003.)
