Hayley and Tucker FORE-ever! The groom’s mother spent the year collecting silver loving cups / trophies from across the world to feature at the rehearsal dinner for her golf loving son and his bride to be. Invitations, Menus and signage featured a water color of the grooms home course. We love how we were able to collaborate to create an elegant evening for these sweet families and their friends. We pray their cups continue to overflow with joy and love for years and years to come.

✨ This beautiful wedding invitation suite is complete with a save the date that included picture-perfect hand-painted art of the bride’s beloved home which added such a personal touch, setting the scene for her special day. We also love all the shades of green that were included 💚🏡

Le Cirque After Dark 2024 was spectacular! In my fifth year of collaboration and celebration of , we transformed their campus into a three ring circus with french flair. Despite our outdoor ring being drenched in the evenings storms, we implemented plan b and the show went on with great success. Circus Animals, midway games, a bounty of french and fair cuisine, beautiful art and generous hearts gathered under the big top for the greatest camp on earth. 🧡🎠🎪💕

From tiny acorns, mighty oaks grow 🌳
This quote was the inspiration for the Silver Celebration applauding twenty five years of . I had the privilege to work with a committee of dedicated parents, alums and staff to create a meaningful night for their school community. Two eighteen foot trees anchored their gym. Black and white photos from the last quarter century of Wildcat life hung from satin ribbons which enticed guests under the branches to explore the happiest of school days. It was an evening of memories, of reunion,of friendship and a toast to their bright future.

Hello Friends New and Old.

Welcome to my world of celebrations. My name is JoBeth McElhanon and I am the founder and Principal Designer / Planner of Lilias & Olive (pronounced like the flower Lily-as). Our mission is to create elegant celebrations and joyous memories.

After years excelling in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors, I launched Lilias and Olive in 2018 as a creative outlet to spread beauty and grace. Our events are known for exquisite attention to detail, personalized storytelling combined with a refined restraint. The results are classic and timeless.

I love building relationships with my clients and diving deep into fashion, history, and travel to create a unique reflection of who they are.

I am a native Arkansan - a small town delta girl raised with the traditions of Southern hospitality which are often reflected in our styling. For 25 years, Little Rock has been my home and it’s where my favorite people are. I am wife to Phillip and mom to my 8 year miracle Harrison … and our two pups Honey (a total sweetie) & Ollie (a total grump).

It is my absolute joy in life to create beautiful experiences filled with extravagant love whether in Little Rock, across Arkansas or wherever my clients dream. In my 40s, I took a chance to follow my heart to make my dream job. Every day, I am grateful to do what I do. Thank you for following along!

All the dollfaces and gents of had a rip roarin’ good time celebrating their annual holiday party this past weekend. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with their party committee again this year. They never cease to surprise me with a fun theme! This one was the cat’s pajamas. Everyone was a good “ol sport” and came dressed like a Gatsby dream.

This was a perfect to wrap a full, fun 2023.

Happy Merry Everything! Having a December birthday, was my inspiration for a dinner that can serve dual purposes for friends to celebrate. Ticking and tartan paired with equestrian brass - each piece has a unique holiday nod. Velvet monogrammed ribbons - my favorite detail- served as placecards for dearest friends. And that edible tartan bow on the birthday cake was a little party planning birthdaywish come true. Dec 2022 📸:

This St Lucia Brunch remains one of my favorite ways to celebrate the season with friends. This traditional scandinavian holiday celebrated Dec 13 kicks off the Christmas season as a way to bring light and hope in the darkest time of the year.

What an ax-cellent night! I had a blast designing this lumberjack inspired winter party for ’s 40th anniversary and employee celebration last year. I am always grateful when corporate clients invite me to be part of their team in special times. As we wrap up a FULL 2023 ( one event to go), please note If you’re wanting to plan for 2024, I have couple of spots left next next fall/winter. I require a 6 month minimum lead time.
After 5 wonderful years, This will be my first year since starting L&O to take an actual holiday break. (Hello. boundaries!). I’ll be out of the office Dec 15 - January 15. I’ll be back with bells on after that to turn out some fabulously FUN and classically elegant events next year. Of course, I’ll keep posting holiday pretties until then. Tis the season…

More tabletop inspo:: Before Lilias & Olive was even a twinkle in my eye ( and I was still in the throes of nonprofit life), my powerhouse publisher friend asked me to contribute to the Nov 2014 issue with an article on Graceful Gatherings. Here I took an unexpected approach to Thanksgiving with the greens, purples and gold of these traditional china patterns. Then paired them w white pumpkins overflowing with succulents. The finished tabletop is fresh and outside the box - and still works almost a decade later. Digging to find these photos, I was reminded how grateful I am for the wonderful, talented friends the Lord has given me along the way. From the day we met in 2011, Mandy has been an amazing encourager and cheerleader for me and many other women. This year has served up extra helpings of challenges, but every step there have been my dearest friends to lend a hand, cheer, cry, pray, brainstorm and laugh with me. These precious souls are at the top of my “thankful for” list this year…and always.

Cabo bound! We had the perfect weather for this fall fiesta. Friends and family gathered to celebrate Anna & Harry in Little Rock before their spring destination wedding. The family’s love of color inspired us to create a celebracíon that was muy muy bonita! 💃🏻

Cabo Bound!

Que Feliz! This colorful poolside fiesta was the perfect way to celebrate a bride and groom with friends before they departed to Cabo for the main event!

I’ll slow my reels roll after this. I’m just having too much fun looking back on these past After Dwrk events and how much it’s grown! @camp_aldersgate’s After Dark 2019 was my first large nonprofit event after launching Lilias & Olive the previous fall. After 20 years of AAD, It was only the second year of hosting the event on their campus. We opted for a Safari theme that started with cocktails in their wheelchair accessible treehouse, taught African drumming lessons, and took guests on a hot air balloon rides. The small sponsor huts we built specifically for this event were supposed to be taken down and used as decking around their lake the following summer. Instead, they were such a hit with guests and campers, the camp added two more huts. They’ve become a signature piece of the event and an outpost for the campers during weekends and summer camps. It’s one aspect of design that determines our next destination. Which this event has a way of getting my creative juices flowing! I already have the style board ready to go for 2025. I am so grateful to work with this wonderful organization and be a tiny part in supporting the work they do.

Wabi Sabi After Dark 2020/21:: In my deep dive into the evolution of my collaboration with @camp_aldersgate, this has been one of my favorite designs of any event. The concept was based on the Japanese philosophy of “finding the beauty in what is.”. We had no idea our April 2020 event would be pushed to October 2021. Nor did we know the world would have to embrace the Wabi Sabi way of life for awhile. There were a ton of custom touches - but mostly it’s the customized chinosoirie design that features camp life that still captures my heart.

Feeling nostalgic and looking back over the last five years of @camp_aldersgate’s signature fundraiser. In 2022, when the camp celebrated 75 years, we threw a birthday blowout for After Dark that allowed us to dine in a 50’s diner, chill in a Woodstock Wigwam, dance at Studio 75 while (Almost) Elton John took stage. They shopped the 80s mall where a hair salon awaited to crimp and pouf. We had coffee with friends, and we all got a glimpse of the future. Who needs a Delorean when camp is this much fun?

Camp Aldersgate exists to provide barrier free experiences for children and young adults with special needs through summer and weekend camps. They get to have experiences like zip lines, canoeing and even a carousel that have been equipped for wheelchairs. They can do things they can’t do day to day. And that’s My goal each year for After Dark’s design - to create experiences for guests they don’t get day to day. I love looking back and seeing all the destinations we’ve explored over the year. Daydreaming about a springtime escape to Paris. For now, this behind the scenes of our Monet inspired tablescape as seen in @arkansasbride magazine Spring 2022 will have to do.

Another look at @arprostatecancer’s event Bourbon, Beards. and Blue Ribbons last week. (And my first attempt at a reel). A great team of businesses came out to create the Odyssey Adventures to give hands on experiences. Beards we’re trimmed, ax’s we’re thrown, fly lines were cast, bourbon was sipped. We love our free range, experiential events and the guests do, too!
