Cooking with cast iron is a great way to get color and flavor in your food but did you know you CANNOT use soap on cast iron? It will soak in what you use and all your food will taste like soap. But do you want to cook in something you cannot clean? Follow these steps to clean your cast iron.

1. Rinse out large particals of food with hot water.
2. Use a stainless steel scrubber to get off hard to remove particles if needed.
3. Pour lemon juice on to the cast iron and use a paper towel to finish scrubbing the item.
4. You can reseason the item with a small amount of oil on a clean paper towel.

Your cast iron is now ready to reuse.

Would you pick this out of the bunch of Watermelon? If not you would be missing out. If the bugs were attracted to it while it was growing, so will you. Very sweet and delicious.

It’s your final chance to vote for the top breakfast burrito in Denver

http://theknow.denverpost.com/2017/03/31/denvers-top-breakfast-burrito-final-two I currently cook for Asada Rico who is in the final leg of this contest.

What would March Madness be without unthinkable upsets and a hangry Cinderella? Luckily, we don’t have to find out, because we’ve got both. No. 1 seed Santiago’s, largely considered the favorite in the tournament, lost to No. 3 Little Anita’s in a buzzer-beater. Our tortilla-clad Cinderella is none…

Summer tip: picking your watermelon. Most people would take a look at this watermelon and pass right by it because it looks less then perfect. Don't make the same mistake. The track marks on this watermelon shows that it is sweet enough for the bugs to try and get to the meat of the watermelon. This is a great way to find the most juicy sweet melon. Enjoy

With Summer coming more yummy fruits and veggies will be hitting your table. Take your local market as your guide. If an item is stored cold, keep it cold. If it is stored in the open, don't refrigerate it. Healthy eating to you all.

Best hashbrowns are tater tots, baked, mashed with a potato masher and then baked some more. No need to add oil but you could add diced onion and green pepper.
