It all started with a passion for painting and a love for children...

I started Canvas N’ Cupcakes my freshman year of college, back in 2014. At the time I was going to school for elementary education and always knew I loved working with kids. People ask me all the time where I got the idea for Canvas N’ Cupcakes and although it isn’t a terribly exciting story, I really must credit it to my sister. We were talking one day and she told me that she thought I would be good at teaching painting lessons for birthday parties. This was right as all of “Painting-this” and “Sipping-that” all started culminating. It was an exciting time as the general public started to see that painting could be done by anybody and it was really a really fun pastime.

After thinking about her comment for a couple weeks, I started developing a very basic business plan. It wasn’t long before Canvas N’ Cupcakes was open for business. It was a lot of trial and error at first, but it really started developing into a pretty well oiled machine and with each and every party I fell in love even more with what I was doing. After graduating college in 2017 with a communications degree, I decided to test the waters in the job market and work for a mortgage company for about a year and a half. I put Canvas N Cupcakes on the back burner and although I learned many invaluable lessons from the mortgage company, it became a reminder to me that I truly love working with children and Canvas N’ Cupcakes just felt like “home” to me.

I strive on a daily basis to make Canvas N Cupcakes the perfect birthday party or painting event for all involved. My family still teases me to this day because I’m a firm believer that the day after my birthday is the perfect time to start planning my next birthday. I whole heartedly realize and appreciate how exciting a birthday party can be and my goal is to create an unforgettable and unique experience that a kiddo can look back on in 20 years and say, “Man, that was a really fun party.”
