Happy Mexican Independence Day!

As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, we wanted to share some facts about this holiday that you might not have known!
🇲🇽 Mexico declared their independence from Spain on September 16th , 1810.

🇲🇽 The war for Mexican independence lasted 11 years, and started when Father Miguel Hidalgo, rang the bells of his parish and declared Mexican independence with a rousing speech known as “El Grito de Dolores.”

🇲🇽 Each year on September 15th, the president of Mexico stands on the balcony of the National Palace reads a patriotic speech inspired by “El Grito de Dolores” to mark the start of the Independence Day celebration!
