Hey guys! I finished a processional for an upcoming couple of mine and I’m super proud of it - it involved Ian French having to keep the girls and dogs upstairs for an extended period time so that the house would be quiet for me to record. It also meant putting the microphone across the house so the piano would not overpower it.

The video is of absolutely nothing, but the sound is great.

It’s a full moon! “There must be a party happening somewhere.”

From 10th grade til her last month here, my mother pointed out full moons to me whenever she got a chance, always with the same phrase. Text messages, phone calls, chicken scratch notes on whatever scrap of paper was nearby…Whispers at dinner. It was a reference to the “full moon party” sign we saw on vacation in Tortola… it became an inside joke and more than anything, I think it was an intentional glimmer for when she was no longer here ❤️

My favorite summer music camp still has camper openings for students who play: low brass, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, viola, percussion, and guitar! Camp Encore Coda is where I learned chord progressions on piano and tried the vibraphone for the first time! It’s also where I met one of my favorite people!

Music teacher friends, consider encouraging your students who have that extra special love for music to apply 🙂

🎹 Today I booked my first couple who elected to hire me as their officiant AND their cocktail hour pianist.

“Before our vision for the day felt a bit off but now knowing you’ll be playing … it feels perfect. It seems like you were the missing piece!”

So excited to continue exploring this. Piano is something that brings me so much joy personally and I can’t wait to share my love more broadly. 🎹

Ps: my mom, who put me in piano lessons at the age of 3, would be so so proud. ❤️

Tonight I officiate my first bilingual wedding. I’m so thankful that I was a teachers pet and that I’m on good terms with all my teachers from grade school. I’m currently consulting my AP Spanish teacher for sentence syntax.
