It wouldn't be Pride without a little extravaganza — give it up for our drag stars, host Johnny Gentleman & femme fatale Vicky Chavarria 🙌

Johnny Gentleman is a Latinx, trans-masculine drag king who has worked hard to break boundaries in the Los Angeles and WeHo drag scene. He has been a vocal advocate for drag king and non-binary drag equality in the Los Angeles drag community and has worked with many Los Angeles producers and venues to bring drag king visibility to queen-dominated stages; especially highlighting drag performers of color. He has been featured in Vox.com, LA Times, and Spectrum News, and performed at several drag festivals around the US such as Bushwig and Oaklash. He is the first drag king producer to perform and coordinate an all indigenous drag lineup for LA PRIDE 2023 and started LA’s first drag king brunch, Dapper Puss, that is currently at Mama Shelter every month.

Vicky Chavarria is originally from Guatemala City and live in Hollywood, CA. She has won several beauty and drag and transgender titles. She has been working as an artist and drag queen impersonator for 15 years. She has won 14 titles such as Universal Show Queen in Hawaii and her last title, Draglatina. The 4th Annual Trans Pride Long Beach is just 10 days away! Let's give a warm LB welcome to our final musical acts of the season — singer-songwriters Socks Whitmore & Cris Law 🙌

Socks Whitmore is a nonbinary producer, director, educator, writer, singer-actor, and composer rooted in voice, text, and accessibility. Their work as a performer & creative spans from live performance to digital media to print, including music theater, choral music, feature films, audio dramas, video games, poetry, short fiction, op-eds, and more. Known for their work with Stage Raw & the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, Socks is also a sought-after drama journalist in the LA theater scene. To top it all off, Socks is a co-founder & facilitator of the trans vocal group 8TPS, a producing partner at the trans-led events production company, Prismatic.one, and the creative director at the gender-expansive Bolero Game Studio. A self-described “professional overachiever,” Socks likes to keep busy—if they’re not on stage, set, or their laptop, they can be found watching bad movies and amassing large amounts of socks.

Cris Law works extensively as a performer, voice teacher, accompanist, and choral director throughout Southern California. As an AAPI Indie Pop Artist, he has found his pop sound inspired by the memorable melodies and fun sound of the 80s and 90s. The release of synthpop singles “Feel!”, “ ” and “Let Me Go” has led to numerous performances and collaborative experiences.

Let's hear it for the boys! It's our pleasure to formally introduce two more of our musical artists for this year's Trans Pride Long Beach: Jakk Fynn & Ryan Cassata 🤩

As a trans artist in music, Jakk Fynn is aware of the need for transmasculine representation in the pop space in particular. As a young adult, there wasn’t an artist like Jakk out there — he’s carving his path not just for himself, but for others like him, proving that it’s all possible. With his music, the California-based artist hopes listeners feel a bit less alone. As someone who faces the challenges associated with anxiety himself, he hopes to make anyone who hears his music feel understood in some capacity. His story, and his art, conjure feelings of triumph and healing.

Ryan Cassata is an award-winning singer-songwriter, actor, performer, published writer, and transgender activist. With over 650 performances and seven original and critically-acclaimed music albums, Ryan is recognized as the first openly-trans performer at the Vans Warped Tour and has been featured in GRAMMY.com, Rolling Stone, Billboard, The New York Times, Buzzfeed, AltPress, American Songwriter, and The NY Daily News. Billboard has referred to Ryan as a “true force in the industry,” honoring him as one of the esteemed ""11 Transgender & Non-Binary Musicians You Need to Know". Ryan Cassata is a proud recipient of a 2019 ASCAP Foundation award & the first-ever recipient of the Harvey Milk Memorial Award. He has been recognized by the United States Congress and has raised visibility through many televised appearances on notable news channels such as CNN, The Larry King Live Show, and The Tyra Banks Show.

Experience Jakk & Ryan LIVE at Trans Pride Long Beach, taking place on Saturday, September 28 from 1-7 PM in Bixby Park. Join us for a joyous day of live entertainment, inspiring speakers, community resources, and arts & crafts. 🏳️‍⚧️

TCLA has recorded and sung with artists Wrable, MUNA, Phoenix Claea Rousiamanis, Jennifer Leitham, Mila Jam, Angelica Ross, Alex Newell, Maggie Szabo, Andy Grammer, G-Flip, Demi Lovato, and Noah Cyrus. As a Chorus, TCLA celebrates diversity and acceptance in physical appearance and vocal presentation so that others can see and feel the joy we share in being our authentic selves and through our music, changing the trans-narrative from victim to VICTORIOUS.
