I know this is a late post, but I have to pay my respects to the client that changed my life. Let me put it into context. Mrs. Lynnda Herrick was the first person to believe I was able to both DJ and Entertain simultaneously. One day, she called out of the blue and said to me, you're going to DJ and Emcee our next event. Do you have any equipment of your own? I said yes ma’am! Lynnda: Ok good! And from that moment on, I was her go-to. Knowing I was still a little wet behind the ears, I felt an obligation not to let her down. I’m sure at times, I stressed her out😅. But no matter what, she always believed in me. Her maternal nature always motivated me to try new things or viewpoints. For example, I genuinely hated Halloween. But it was Mrs. Herrick's favorite holiday! She’d decorate the whole house and the neighborhood would follow. Her husband Joey, the kids, family, and friends would all be dressed to the nines. Weeks beforehand, Mrs Herrick gave me a call. Evan, are you ready for the party? Yes ma'am I replied, but I don't like Halloween. Is it ok if I don't dress up, or wear face paint (thinking to myself there’s no way she’ll book me for this)? And To my surprise, she said Ok Evan(😅). Fast forward a few years and guess who’s dressing in Halloween customs and coming early for face paint 🙌🏽🫡😅🤣. As a younger man, I believed Halloween was a night for witches. But no, it shall be remembered as the night for Angeles 😇. Rest in peace Mrs Herrick, the kindest woman I have ever met. Sending my love, respect, and support to the entire Herricks family! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽👸🏼👸🏼
