We had a blast celebrating at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino with The Shepherd Express at the Annual “Best of Milwaukee” Event. Two Brothers One Mind was once again nominated as the Best Magicians in Milwaukee for the second year in a row!!

Most importantly, we had a chance to hang out with some good friends who were also recognized!! Shout out to Best Electric Service, Inc., Fran Erchull Janczak, Carly Malison and a special thanks to everyone that either nominated or voted for us!!

Chad and I have been producing shows partnered up with the Brumder Mansion for several years now.

Those of you have been to the show know that the Brumder Mansion was once was operated by gangsters and used as a speakeasy.

Here is some info about two brothers. Not us! The Peck brothers the original Milwaukee gangsters.

The names Sam and Ed Peck echo through the shadowed corners of Milwaukee's past, forever intertwined with the city's clandestine history of organized crime.

During the tumultuous Prohibition era, the Peck brothers emerged as key figures, orchestrating their illicit operations from the heart of their popular nightclub, "Club Madrid."

More than just a place for revelry, Club Madrid was a front, a hub where liquor flowed freely in defiance of the law, and the brothers carved out their place in the underworld. But their ambitions weren't confined to the club walls.

The Pecks also held ownership of another significant landmark, the Brumder Mansion, becoming its second proprietors and transforming it into a clandestine speakeasy.

While Club Madrid has long since faded into memory, the Brumder Mansion still stands, a grand testament to a bygone era. Today, it welcomes guests as a charming bed-and-breakfast, its elegant rooms and storied history a stark contrast to the days when it was a hidden haven for the Peck brothers' illegal endeavors, whispering tales of a time when Milwaukee was a playground for mobsters.

Prohibition actually advanced the future of jazz by creating an underground nightclub culture.
