Hey adventurers! We’re Abby and Ethan Lewis, husband and wife elopement photographers and planners who help down-to-earth couples from all around the States seamlessly plan the unforgettable elopement experience of their dreams!🤩

We were once in the same shoes that you are in right now - we ditched a traditional, southern wedding and instead decided to elope in the mountains!

The result? A wedding day that was filled with adventure, fulfillment, love, unforgettable memories we will never forget, and photographs that we can cherish for a life-long marriage.

And now, we’re passionate about helping other thrill-seeking couples achieve the same thing!

For our couples, we’re somewhere between friends and guides! Planning an elopement can be a hell of a ride, so through thick and thin, we will take the stress off of your shoulders and do the majority of the planning for you!

Away from the camera, we’re thrill-seekers, concert-enthusiasts, and the proud parents of our two German Shorthaired Pointers, Juniper Belle and Ember Claire! We’re typically homebodies, but we’re down for a fun night out to try new restaurants and discover a new speakeasy!

Our first date was at a local coffee shop, so now everywhere we visit, we find a new one to try, and we’d love nothing more than to share our tradition with you as we join you on your adventure!

With Christmas just 2 days away, I hope you’re all staying warm and holding your loved ones close - just like Nicole & Hailey did during their elopement this past October!

In one 15-minute window, the weather shifted from sunny, to rainy, to snowy! But this incredible couple embraced the weather and held each other close, and these moments were so heartwarming to witness and document.

It’s December 1st (which is crazy to think about🤯 - this year has flown by) and I found myself reminiscing about this snowy Breckenridge elopement so I thought I would share some photos!

Since 2024 is only 31 days away - I am accepting only 6 more couples for next year, and limiting myself to 15 couples for the year of 2025!

I take on a limited number of couples each year to ensure that I am able to put my whole heart into serving each and every single one of the couples who choose to invest and have me as a part of their day.

Crested Butte in the early summer months is an absolute dream!🤩 The last of the winter’s snow melts off of the jagged peaks, the Aspen meadows burst with color, and the valley begins to buzz with life! All of these things were evident during Amanda & Michael’s elopement this past June.

Their adventure started off with some serious off-roading up a mountain-side, exchanging private vows surrounded by golden aspen trees, and exploring whatever trail looked like it had something promising at the end of it (and trust me when I say it always did!)

There’s something about exploring the wilderness with your partner that is so surreal. It’s just the two of you, surrounded by so many endless possibilities.

It's hard to put into words just how special it was to document and celebrate Emily & Jasper's wedding on June 24th, 2023.

I've known these two for YEARS! We all attended the same private school earlier in our lives where I had the special privilege to witness the start of their relationship. It meant the absolute world to me when they reached out wanting me to be a part of their wedding day!

Their ceremony at The Chapel in the Woods was breathtaking - the perfect backdrop for their portraits, emotional first look, and heartfelt private vows. You could feel the love radiating off of these two as they stood before each other, surrounded by family and friends. And the reception at The Refinery in New Albany? It was an absolute blast. Their friends and family truly know how to celebrate - the dance floor was never empty and the energy stayed high throughout the entire night!

Witnessing and capturing the start of your marriage was an incredible opportunity, and it meant the world that the two of you put your trust in me to do it. Emily & Jasper, continue loving each other fiercely!

July 13th, 2023 I married the love of my life. Reflecting on the most special moment in our lives, here are a few reasons why we choose to plan an intimate destination wedding in Colorado:

1. Rocky Mountain National Park was one of the first places Abby and I traveled to after we got engaged so it holds a special place in our hearts. Its beauty quickly stole our hearts, and became sentimental and the perfect backdrop for our story!

2. We wanted to share one of our favorite places with our loved ones. Seeing the awe on our friends' and family's faces as they experienced Colorado for the first time was priceless! Everyone flew out a week early to spend the week in the Rockies hiking, kayaking, and soaking up all the incredible view the park has to offer.

3. Planning an intimate wedding meant we could focus on the meaningful moments, without the stress of planning a large ceremony and reception. Our day wasn’t about the fancy details and we didn’t have to pay or account for a couple hundred guests - all that mattered was the love we had, being able to express it openly, and having those closest to us experience it with us.

4. Our day was so relaxed, full of laughter, and free from wedding day jitters. There were less moving pieces and less rules which allowed us to soak in every emotion

5. Abby and I have always felt closest to God surrounded by nature. We felt connected to each other, God, and our shared sense of adventure in the mountains.

Our wedding day left us fulfilled, full of love, and was an incredible adventure we'll never forget.

Eloping in the mountains? Here’s a few tips and things to consider when planning your ceremony👇🏻

1. Privacy: Opt for secluded spots that offer privacy for your ceremony and vows! This will allow you to block out any distractions that may take your focus off of one another, and it will fully immerse yourselves in the intimacy of the moment.

2. Know the rules on having a ceremony in your chosen area: Check if your location requires permits or ceremony fees. It’s important that you comply with any regulations for a seamless experience. All national parks require a wedding permit, but many state areas don’t!

3. Have a weather/backup plan: Have 2-3 locations picked out to serve as a back up plan in case if the weather doesn't turn out in your favor!

4. Infuse Intentionality and your personalities: Write personal vows, fill your elopement itinerary full of activities (either a hobby of yours or try something new!), and most importantly, ensure your day is a pure reflection of the unique love story you share!

As we move into the Summer months, here’s a little update on my availability and travel schedule:)👇🏻

Next week I will be out of office as I am flying to Colorado to document 3 elopements all over the state!

As soon as I get back from Colorado next week, Abby and I will spend the weekend moving into our first home together! More than likely, my phone will be off as we move everything out of our storage unit!

I will be out of office for the majority of July (the 7th - the 25th) for my wedding in Colorado and honeymoon in Washington! I will still put a priority on responding to inquiries and answering questions, but editing will be paused and there may be a delay in communication during that time!

I am already at half capacity for weddings and elopements next year! I only work with 15-17 couples per year, so if you’re wanting to save your date on my calendar, head to the link in my bio to inquire!

My travel schedule for next year (so far😉) will be taking me to Mississippi, Montana, and Colorado! If your story takes us out of Kentucky, I’d love to be there!✈️

Carley and Garret's wedding day will forever hold a special place in my heart, because they're the first couple I had the opportunity to be with since day one of their engagement.

Two days before he proposed, Garret reached out to me about capturing it, so we hopped onto the phone to start planning it right away. Little did I know that that phone call would be the start of an amazing relationship with this incredible couple.

I had the opportunity to build a friendship with this couple since December 2021and to support them during their wedding planning. We had so much fun leading up to the big day - hopping on Zoom to plan and create their timeline, touring the wedding venue, and eating sushi after their engagement session.

I can't begin to describe how incredible their wedding day was, but I'll give it a shot: powerful, intentional, heartwarming, joyous, and one hell of a celebration.

Carley and Garret, thank you, thank you, thank you! Working with you and documenting your wedding day was a gift and an honor, and I cannot wait to continue to see what God has in store for the two of you.

2. Book a Photographer - Your elopement photographer is an essential part of your day. They'll be there to capture every precious moment and tell your story through their lens. Don't forget to choose a photographer whose style and personality matches your own.

If you have no modeling skills whatsoever, don't even stress. Ethan has a way of bringing out the best sides of everyone! He creates a fun atmosphere with music and games all while finding a way into your heart.

Ethan not only delivered exceptional photographs, but he stood firm in making sure that our day was truly about us. He wasn't just a wonderful photographer, but he was also an amazing planner and wedding coordinator. He got along with our families very well, knew exactly when to step in and step out, and always found a way to have a great time.

At the very end of our night we were so sad to say goodbye. He truly captured our hearts."

Hey! It’s been awhile since I showed my face here, so I thought I’d remedy that!

I’m Ethan, and the stunning woman in these photos is my incredible fiancé (soon to be wife!) Abby!👋🏻

I’m a destination elopement and wedding photographer who helps down to earth couples seamlessly plan a wedding day full of fulfillment, love, and an unforgettable adventure.

The sole purpose for my creative journey is to be so much more to my couples that just their photographer. I want to be fully there for my couples, guiding, cheering, adventuring. Someone who loves showing up for them - not out of duty, but out of desire.

Whether it’s an adventurous elopement in the mountains of Colorado or a celebration of a lifetime in your local(-ish) area, I've made it my mission to be fully there for my couples, guiding them every step of the way and turning every raw, beautiful, and unfiltered moment of the day into stories preserved to live through love time and time again.

Here’s a few fun facts about me when the camera is stowed and the hiking boots are off:

I proposed to Abby on August 14th, 2022 and we’re planning an intimate elopement with our closest friends and family in RMNP, Colorado!

Together we have a German Short-Haired pointer named Juniper Belle, and you can often find us kicking it back with a good cup if coffee, watching a new movie or TV show, or hiking!

We’re foodies! We love diving into different cultures and their flavors. My current favorites are Mediterranean of any kind, Latin American, Indian, and Thai!

I’m an enneagram 8 (challenger) with a 7 (enthusiast) wing (if you’re into that sorta thing.)

I also love traveling to the mountains out on the West Coast when I’m not helping couples elope! So far, my three favorite states are Colorado, Wyoming, and Alaska!

Abby and I are traveling to Washington for our honeymoon, so I’m sure that’ll become top three!

Lyndsey and Daniel’s ceremony was one of the sweetest I had the opportunity to witness this past fall.

It was full of so much joy and intimacy - we all laughed and some of us even cried, but everyone walked away having experienced the power and depth of their bond.

In my work, I'm all about guiding couples to connect with their adventurous natures and inviting them to step into an atmosphere that encourages love, vulnerability, and humility.

An atmosphere that embraces connection and focuses in on the story and the history that they share.

There's no formula. It’s not a cookie-cutter system of poses and there aren't any mind tricks that washes away their potential anxiety or nervousness about being in from of a camera. It's simply just understanding their personalities, encouraging them to be present, and to tap into and embrace the joy and intimacy that they share.

Before I EVER put a camera in front of my couples, I spend time getting to know them and build a friendship with them. I get to know their likes and dislikes, what puts them on edge and what makes them feel safe, and gain a deeper understanding about their authentic connection.

This puts me in the best position so when it's time to bring out the camera, they feel free and comfortable to step into the atmosphere that I work to create for them. Almost as if the camera isn’t even there!

In that moment, all that matters is them, their love, and the connection that they share between each other...

This is a concept that I keep close to my heart when I work, but sometimes find difficult to put into words. But the images from this engagement session inspired me so much that it made it so easy to write about.
