First day of Wedding MBA! We are taking all the classes to get ready for the huge expansion of Simply Sara O. We have always been a family company and we can’t wait to find the right team members to join us. I used to first see myself as a stay at home mom who started a wedding business as a hobby. In 10 years the kids have gone and that hobby turned into a real business. The bigger it got the more I felt afraid and started to doubt myself. I started trying to be Simply Sara O… but under others umbrellas because I was afraid of my own unique, bold umbrella. Such a mistake! I have been so scared of my own success and the success of Simply Sara O . This year I am putting faith over fear. It’s time to grow. I have seen what I love and what I loathe in our industry and I want to create an environment full of the love. If you live in passion you produce with passion and give your couples the very best you can. Those are the people I want at the table. Open minds & open hearts.

That’s a wrap on fall season 2024! Enjoy a “behind the scenes” peek of the hustle. We all celebrated with a comedy show, pumpkin carving and the most amazing art show
I am nothing without my amazing crew. To all my couples and families I love you all so much. It’s so bittersweet to see a year’s worth of planning come to life with you and then say goodbye. I am one of the lucky ones who turned her passion into a profession, that makes all the difference in my work. My couples are my passion and we make magic. The last picture is our newest addition Luca Jack aka “Frank Gallagher” from Shameless. Luca always looks a little disheveled and drunk…. and we are obsessed! Thank you for getting me to smile at the camera!

Tradition is everything. Paying homage to the journey of generations past whose stories have been woven together to bring you to this moment where two become one and the next chapters are written for the future. In many Indigenous cultures, it’s customary to gift a blanket to merit achievements or milestones. The wedding blanket, in particular, represents a union and being embraced in the prayers of your ancestors, family, and friends. The couple is gifted a blanket, and cover themselves with it, to signify their commitment and honor for the union.

This couple loves board games & color! They wanted rainbow colors. I kept trying to mute color and “design” it in an editorial wedding way, they kept saying “we really want the bold rainbow colors”. I dyed fabric in the backyard, gathered board games and just had fun with it! The room was filled with joy and whimsy for this smart, unique couple.

I love a reveal! I also love to change rooms that have been used more than once in this city. When I walk into spaces, I think how can I change this in a way people haven’t seen. For Emma’s wedding I had a partition built so you could round the corner and the room would come into focus!

I loved creating a sparkly yet organic look. I also love that when I said to “can we just do the whole thing in plants?” She always says “yes we can”. Sustainably ya’ll! Also can I just get a hand clap for lounge/open seating and the daring couples who go for it?!

I love when the spring wedding season calms and I get to do smaller things like create and fabricate flower bars for graduations. Shout out to for picking me beautiful wildflowers and for letting me paint her bar… and maybe drill a little hole… you won’t even notice!
