19 years ago, these 2 young, skinny kids had no idea what they were getting themselves into when they said, "I do!"

Marriage is HARD, folks! And staying married when it gets hard is even harder!

But it also teaches you SO MUCH about yourself, others, the world, and a million other valuable lessons that just can't be learned in the same way when you're single.

We've been through the ringer together.

Just having kids was a world of difficulty (and a world of blessings!), but we also navigated living apart for a few years (with Jon working in Afghanistan and Alaska), spent 7 years with me (Alisha) battling a lifelong form of leukemia (currently in remission!), we struggled financially, nearly got divorced, juggled two different religions for over a decade, and had so much family drama that we could've been guests on Jerry Springer, Dr Phil and Maury Povich without ever discussing the same topic twice!

We buried loved ones, and while we were still deep in grief, moved from a large home into a tiny RV and away from all our loved ones, just months before COVID hit.

There are days when we still contemplate divorce (or murder lol), but overall, we both have a lot to be grateful for.

We're still learning how to communicate, how to love, how to forgive.

Buying a business is now teaching how to take risks and how to really work together.

I'm fairly certain we fight more now than we did when we were on the brink or divorce! But we're trying to remember that we aren't fighting each other, we're fighting FOR each other. We're fighting FOR our future together. We're fighting FOR success, and happiness, and an opportunity to do God's will.

Marriage is HARD.

But it's worth the fight!

So to all our couples, as an anniversary wish from us to you, we hope you have years of good, hard fights!

May they be the things that force you to discover who God needs you to be, both as individuals, and as a strong couple💜

As exhausted as we are, we loved being able to mix and mingle with the community, local vendors, volunteers, friends and family! I have so many ideas of what to do (and not do!) for next year! This amazing 7 year old girl is kicking cancer's butt, and we are so proud of her! Meet Olivia Dean 🌈✨ Liv is a vibrant, spirit who brings sunshine wherever she goes! She’s all about rainbow colors, unicorns, and her cherished squishmallows. Her artistic soul shines through in her love for drawing and painting. Olivia also has a deep appreciation for the great outdoors—she’s happiest camping, riding her scooter, or zipping around on her bike. She loves shopping trips and caring for her baby dolls. Olivia’s energy and sass make her a true force of nature! Olivia’s tackled an aggressive treatment plan head-on, which included: ✨ 34 days of chemotherapy ✨ 7 days of radiation ✨ 7 hospital stays, including the initial one ✨ 3 ER visits ✨ 8 blood transfusions Through it all, Olivia showed incredible bravery. She embraced every challenge with a fearlessness that inspired her family and everyone around her. Olivia proved that she is truly a tough cookie! On December 11, 2024, Olivia’s chemo treatments came to an end! While the next two years will include close monitoring, Olivia’s prognosis is excellent, and her spirit remains unshaken. Her courage and positivity remind everyone just how strong and remarkable she is.
