I sent out an email to everyone that I have on the list for an RV reservation as of this morning. If you did not get an email, please email [email protected] for a reservation request. We currently have 84 RV spots (hoping to increase this number), with 48 reserved as of this morning. There are many new persons reserving spots, so sooner is better than later to send us an email. Payment is not required with the reservation request. I will send out payment information in the next week or two. You will have time to pay over the next few months, so don't stress if you don't have the funds right now. Thanks!

Excitement is in the air!! Today registration for Gulf Wars, SCA 2025 opens and we are getting ready for work weekend starting in the morning at the main hall at 8am! Our main goals for the weekend include demolishing the five points bathhouse that is condemned and...drum roll please...taking down the middle section of the fort. We will be taking down the two towers and sections at the front gates. We will be saving the pieces to be sold as memorabilia to help raise more funds for the other sections of the fort to also be rebuilt. If we can get this section removed and cleaned up, the contractor said he can rebuild the section using the funds we currently have. We will still need $1,200 to completely finish, but we believe we can make this up with donations and memorabilia sales. This will give us a new start to the fort prior to Gulf Wars, SCA 2025! We look forward to seeing everyone!!

To all our Florida friends: the Ranch is open if you need somewhere safe to come to evacuate from the storm. We have room in the pastures for animals and several stables open for horses and livestock. PETS ARE WELCOME. We can sleep 300 and have 80 RV Sites available free of charge.

We are working on some projects that will be ongoing learning opportunities. KAR is launching the Society of Ancient Crafts. There will be guilds such as blacksmithing, herbalism, cooking, leather working, etc. Our plan is to incorporate teaching stations at the Ranch as well as offering classes to the public. There is lots to organize with this and we will be working on a structure for each field. Feedback is welcomed.

We would like to plan a work weekend this coming up weekend and the first weekend in November. Things needing attention: grounds need cut and cleaned, main hall needs plexi glass stain glass clings applied then all plexi installed, someone not afraid of heights to help in stall plexi and drapes for ceiling, general cleaning of main hall and moving of a few new pieces, inventory of what all bedding is there and what is needed in the main hall (some has been stolen), install wheelchair ramps to a couple of the cabins to make them ADA accessible, bath house repair (the ceiling in the women's bathroom fell in due to a leak after the storm, insurance may cover it), tearing down of two mobile homes - these are going to take time to completely take down, and general minor road maintenance (dirt/rock coming this next week).
