As I said during the event, my business would be nothing without . A few months ago I was ready to give up on my business that I’ve built from the ground up, with low energy to keep powering through entrepreneurship. John pulled me out of that hole, pushed me to keep going & all of this is continual proof of the best encouragement in a husband & business partner that a girl could ask for. So thankful to have him by my side as I accepted this award!

Might be doing a million different tasks & getting 20,000 steps in on a wedding day (hence the hokas & cross body!) but I’ll always find my fav event assistant & pull him to the dance floor when a slow dance comes on! 💖💫

Every great event is surrounded by good food! My personal fav to grab are charcuterie trays, pinwheels, chips & dip, nuggets, & anything else that is easy to grab. Chick-fil-A, Sam’s club & your local charcuterie businesses are always the best options!

These charcuterie + veggie trays are from Purple Door Catering, along with pinwheels from 🎉

Good food keeps your guests happy, creates conversation & is always a great change to highlight local restaurants!

The most fun weekend!!! I traveled to DC area this past weekend to help throw a surprise sweet sixteen for my cousin, Claire!

Vibes were coquette, pink, pastels, florals! 🎀💐🤍👛🩰

The girls made their own bouquets (flowers sourced from — They made 10+ bouquets for under $100!), put together personal beauty bags (items sourced from Amazon), & nibbled on a few snacks (food from & )

It was such a sweet DIY party & proof that you don’t have to spend a ton of money, have a super fancy venue or cater an elaborate meal in order to celebrate those around you!

Vendor highlight: — an allergen free specialty bakery in Lynchburg, VA

Absolutely loved working with this fall, for a wedding ! Lindsay was amazing to work with, & we got the chance to connect even further to partner on future events together. It’s always great finding friends in the wedding industry! 🫶🏼

Megan + James!

The DuValls got married on a half beautiful, half rainy day in May. Thankfully the sun was out & skies were blue for the ceremony— just to have full down pour as dinner out of the wood fired pizza truck was being served. Megan + James were amazing to work with & it was such a peaceful, joyful, Spirit-filled day! 🤍

My fav highlights of the day: brick oven pizza truck, bubble exit, fun blue patterned plates, Megan’s dad walking her down the aisle in full uniform!

Hi! Welcome to Lakin & Lee Co.! A little behind on the times but after getting some inquiries from Facebook, I wanted a landing place for people to find out about me, my business and easily book my services.

A little about me:

I'm Rachel (Post) Murdock, owner and *CEO* of Lakin & Lee Co.-- a full service events, marketing and hospitality business located in central Virginia, but fully able to travel!

I've been married to my husband, John for 4 months and still look back on those pics!! Best day ever! We live in Lynchburg, VA where he works digital marketing sales and I run L&L full time.

I love to cook, read and travel! Some of my current obsessions include pebble ice, nut pods toasted marshmallow creamer + my kindle!
