This is part of a hat box I started years ago. I get it out every so often and work on it. It's so close to being finished. It's going to be one of my absolute favorites when it's complete. A lot of detail has gone into this one. I can't wait for you all to see it completed! Once it's all burned, it's done with a wood burner, I will add some color shifting paint to some of the feathers.

Did you know that I work in multiple mediums? Watercolor is one of my favorites. My top favorite medium is pyrography aka wood burning. I also work in acrylics, color pencil, ink, pencil, pastel, and charcoal. Let's not forget face paints which are a cosmetic paint. Currently I am figuring out my new schedule but I do plan on taking on more commissions when I start having some down time. I'll keep you posted when I have availabilities.

I had a busy week painting faces and putting on glitter tattoos. I was in Clarence and Columbia this week. The heat was not my friend but that did not stop people from coming out to have fun and getting painted. Thank you all who came out to see me.

I've had people ask what a glitter tattoo is. A glitter tattoo is applied with a stencil, skin safe glue, then the glitter is applied, and the stencil is removed. Paint can then be added around the glitter tattoo if desired for more of a design. The glitter tattoo itself lasts 3 to 10 days. The added paint will wash off as soon as it is wet. If a glitter tattoo needs to come off sooner due to skin allergy or an event that you would not like the glitter tattoo on for a skin safe oil can be used to remove it. In this video the glitter tattoo is the sparkly part. The paint is not sparkly. The glitter tattoo products that I use are FDA compliant and considered cosmetic. Even with this a person with skin allergies or sensitivities could react and this should be taken into consideration when you decide if you want to get one.

We knocked it out of the park at the Cardinal paint party class. Paint Party classes are a great group activity. You can book private parties with your friends. Bring your favorite beverages and come relax, laugh, and paint. Message the Maple City Art Studio to set up a day of fun with your friends and family! You pick who you invite and you pick what you want to paint. We provide the step by step instructions, supplies, snacks and drinks, and clean up.
