Introducing Mabel, an 1860s spoon bonnet, made fully out of 100% white silk.

Beautiful white Venice lace and just the right touch of floral decoration makes this bonnet stand out in all the right ways!

The frame is handmade with buckram and wire, lined with coutil for extra hardiness.

A Victorian skimmer based on sketches from between 1865 to 1890s. Straw base, very sturdy.

Burnt Orange dupioni, carefully pleated, and featuring white Venice lace, sunset and scarlet roses, a brush of milk chocolate feathers, and a gorgeously big dupioni bow

Here is the best illustration that I have to explain my Historically Inspired and Historical Fiction pieces

Both pieces are using very similar vintage patterns, but the construction is much different.

The first is a gorgeous green bonnet, pink ribbon, a cascade of flowers -
And every bit of it is modern style fabric -vintage green faux silk and satin ribbon, but it does hold color so much better and rarely fades - that's Historical Fiction.

The other is "non fiction". Or rather, 'Historically Inspired" - not 100%, but pretty close.
*Real* ivory silk fabric, over a hand built buckram and wire frame and almost completely handstitched.
Venice lace, beautiful sweeping feathers and a small touch of blooms.
