We will enjoy their horses performance, delicious spanish food and the flamemco show in the best location, Haras Hacienda.

Ana María Barceló
Flamenco dancer Ana María Barceló started studying ballet at 3 years old. At 11, she was selected to join the San Juan Municipal Ballet Company. A few years later, Barceló started studying classic Spanish dancing and became interested in other Spanish dancing styles too. She moved to Valencia, Spain to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Cinematography and Screenplay, and was introduced to the world of flamenco. In 2005, she joined renowned dancer Antonio Santaella’s flamenco company in Puerto Rico, Mosaico Almudéjar, and started to perform in theaters and tablaos throughout the island. In 2008, Barceló traveled to Granada, Spain to study flamenco full-time before returning to Puerto Rico to establish her own dance studio and produce performances with the best singers and guitarists in the country. In 2021, she was selected to perform with the Houston Grand Opera and the worldwide renowned soprano Ana María Marinez in "Suite Española: Explorando Iberia. Barceló has been traveling to Spain frequently to continue her training at recognized flamenco schools.

To wrap up the week, let’s have a good time with a new addition to our Tablao Flamenco. Genevieve Obregón grew up in San Antonio, Texas where she began dancing flamenco and folklorico during childhood. She has danced with companies across the country including the Maru Montero Dance Company, Austin Flamenco Dance Company, and Arte y Pasión. Genevieve has studied under many strong flamenco figures nationally and internationally. She has traveled to Sevilla and Madrid for intensive flamenco training at Amor de Dios and FlamencoDanza and regularly visits Albuquerque, NM to attend the ever-inspiring NIFNM Flamenco Festival. Genevieve has competed in the Flamenco Vivo Certamen (Tablao Division) in New York City. As part of this opportunity, she completed a residency at the Kaatsbaan Cultural Park in Upstate NY under the mentorship of esteemed flamenco artists Isaac Tovar and Florencia Oz. Genevieve currently teaches young people and adults at the Guadalupe Dance Academy and Raices de Arte Español in San Antonio, TX. Genevieve considers herself a lifelong learner and lover of dance and enjoys sharing what she knows about flamenco with her dedicated students and creating opportunities for the growth of the flamenco community in San Antonio whenever possible. We are thrilled to share that we have invited Jose Manuel Tejada to perform at our Feria de Abril. José is a virtuoso guitarist who studied concert music and classical guitar at the Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba. In Havana, he worked as a musical director and guitarist for Alma Flamenca and Ecos Flamenco Company before moving to Austin in early 2012.With a deep understanding of both classical and flamenco traditions, José has collaborated with renowned dancers and musicians across the United States and Spain, bringing his passionate and expressive style to stages, festivals, and cultural events. His versatility allows him to blend traditional flamenco with contemporary influences, creating dynamic and evocative performances.In addition to performing, José is dedicated to teaching and mentoring aspiring guitarists, sharing his expertise in flamenco technique, improvisation, and musical interpretation. His commitment to the art form continues to inspire audiences and students alike. Our Feria would not be the same without our CELIA CORRALES Native of Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz, Celia grew up singing flamenco at parties in her hometown, before marrying a Navy man and relocating to the U.S. 25 years ago.
