Dave Schimming - Musician, Singer & Songwriter - "One Mule Band Music" Dave Schimming, singer/songwriter - acoustic guitar backed original songs, Americana, blues, 60's, 70's & folk/bluegrass music.

Available to perform for community/organization events, town festivals, farm markets, business venues & private parties. Musical style developed performing with the "The Gazaway Mountain Boys" & "Miller's Mule" (Hutchinson Kansas area bluegrass bands 2007-2012); "Das Schmidt Haus Band' (2012-2013); local Hope KS rock band "Alice" (1968-1969 ); jams and unofficial stage appearances at the Winfield

Walnut Valley Festival; basement sessions; and the Friday night Emma Chase Cafe music jams Cottonwood Falls, KS. Songs are primarily vocal & acoustic guitar which include a mix of original songs and covers. I can do "original songs only" sets if preferred.

Worked out a set list this morning for the Woodbine KS Fall Festival this coming Saturday. My time slot on stage is from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. - Lot of activities going on throughout the day; nothing like spending some time at a rural Kansas Flint Hills town!

Our Story

My focus in recent years has been on songwriting and performing vocal/acoustic guitar backed music. Other current activities include various jams and unofficial stage appearances (Stage 11 “Songwriters” stage and Stage 5) at the Winfield KS Walnut Valley Festival; Emma Chase Friday Night Music weekly open mic jams (in charge of the 4th Friday Classic Rock n’ Roll & Vintage Country jam) held at Cottonwood Falls, KS, and participation in Cottonwood Falls/Chase County contra dance bands. From 2007-2012 performed with the "The Gazaway Mountain Boys" & "Miller's Mule", Hutchinson Kansas area bluegrass bands; 1968-1969 played with the local Hope/Hillsboro area (KS) rock band "Alice" . Current songs on the set list include a mix of original songs written (a number of songs relate to and about the Flint Hills & Chase County, the Kansas/Tallgrass Prairie, Pioneers and the Old West); acoustic covers of 60’s/70’s rock tunes; and a little country for good measure. I enjoy playing and sharing my music with others!
