Ah! We love them. This family has faithfully come to us every year since 2017 to document their story and all the little details it holds along the way.

Pro tip: find a photographer early, and stick with them. Your kids will do much better at a session with someone they know and remember having fun with every year! And the parents will have a lot more peace knowing exactly what to expect.

Two Mistakes that Hinder a Marketing Strategy...

The point of marketing is to be noticed; but it's really tough in this day and age. Right? We understand because we've been there.

✅Invested in media like photography & videography,
✅ made countless graphic designs,
✅went to expos,
✅Purchased magazine ads and social media ads,
✅Did local event sponsorships etc.

But these can all be tricky when there are hundreds of others in the area with the same strategies. Here are two reasons we see that may be hindering your visual marketing:

1. Media is not telling a story.
There is an art to visual storytelling and it is one of the most powerful ways to grab attention and share the personality of a brand. Photography sessions should be less about what you or your store or product look like and more about giving the customer a sneak peek into what it looks like to be a client. This is telling the story of the experience you offer.

2. Marketing blends in with the crowd.
In the beginning of my photography career, I purchased a course from the top wedding photographer in Chicago. He confessed that he wouldn't even consider putting an ad in a magazine unless it could be a full page or two pages. Why? Because he understood this concept. And it has stuck with me ever since. If you want to be the best/most-noticed, you have to have the best/most noticeable media/marketing. Be the expert contributor, the inside cover, the one who posts valuable content that is saved for reference, etc. A 1/4 page ad won't do the job in the same way and neither will posting once in a while to a social media account with cell phone photos.
