Cookie Moments Today 🍪 Today’s been all about those unexpected connections, and the wonderful customers that found us! One even without signs up! Love meeting all the brave cookie nomsters who make their way to our little home bakery. We just pulled out a batch of Malva cookies that I just need to share! South African inspired, with apricots, brown sugar, vanilla, and rolled in hibiscus sugar. It’s like taking a sweet little trip right from home. 🌍 Oh, and they are vegan! She is my soul mate in a mother in law. “Desserts by Nancy Sherton” was a gift from a child hood friend. A reminder that my favorite flavors are from my favorite memories. “Betty Crocker Cookie Book” “The Sioux Chef’s Indigenous Kitchen” I am always looking to find ways to connect with Minnesota and the ingredients she has to offer. “Paleo Sweets by Kelsey Ale” “The Great Minnesota Cookie Book” Tradition is important to me and so is finding out what my fellow Minnesotan’s find most delicious! “Joy of Cooking by Irma S. Rombauer and Marion Rombauer Becker” “The Food You Crave by Ellie Krieger” a gift from my grandmother this helps me rediscover the luscious flavors in simplicity. “The United Nations of Cookies by Jess Murphy and Eoin Cluskey” The best flavors are discovered by listening to our neighbors. Find out their favorite childhood dessert and ya never know what you could end up with, maybe a Lod Chong cookie? “Blueberries - 50 Tried and True Recipes by Julia Rutland” Fun fact about the baker, blueberries are my favorite fruit! “Polish Cookery by Marja Ochorwicz-Monatowa” Sometimes my best discoveries are not even baking related. Cooking with my family is the best and we love discovering new ways to look at food. “100 Cookies by Sarah Kieffer” “Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book circa pre 1990” I grew up making pancakes out of this cook book with my mom. The page, 88, has actually fallen out and I safely hold onto it in a separate area. My cookie flavors ideas come from anything and everything!
