Calling all couples! Would there still be interest in a Couples Night Out Mixology Class? I had originally planned this for the weekend following Valentine’s Day, but with so much going on, I haven’t been able to finalize the details.

It might be too late to secure a venue for February, and I know many of you may already have Valentine’s plans, but I’d love to hear your thoughts! ✨ What an Absolutely Incredible Turnout! ✨

Our Ladies Night Out Sip N Dip was a night to remember! 🥂 We had so much fun mastering two delicious cocktails – the playful Candy Land and the decadent Chocolate Martini – while dipping pretzel rods, Oreos, and strawberries into creamy, dreamy chocolate. 🍫🍓

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to educate and connect with such an amazing group of women. It was truly a joy to meet each of you and share this fun-filled experience together!

A huge THANK YOU to Lacy Farkash with Kountry Candy Store for bringing this creative idea to life with me – your vision and the work of your incredible team made this event so special. 💕

I recently came across a post asking, “What would you like to see in Marianna?” It got me thinking, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Let’s keep something in mind: many of us say we want to preserve the small-town charm of Jackson County, but then suggest chain restaurants, malls, and large retailers. In my opinion, we can maintain our small-town life while embracing and growing local small businesses that bring similar benefits.

Here’s how:
• Jobs: Small businesses can provide meaningful jobs for our youth, keeping them engaged and out of trouble.
• Revenue: Supporting local businesses keeps money within our county instead of spending it in larger cities.
• Tourism: Unique, local spots attract travelers who will cherish and support our beautiful community.

Here’s my vision for Marianna:
• Family Outings: A bowling alley with an arcade and skating rink for fun family nights.
• Children’s Entertainment: A Play Café—an indoor play space for small kids with coffee and refreshments for adults. Plus, upgraded playgrounds with clean restrooms, a gated area for safety, and regular maintenance.
• Local Eateries: Instead of another fast-food chain, how about a cozy diner with great burgers, fries, and shakes?
• Groceries: An Aldi for affordable and healthy grocery shopping.
• Shopping: Remodel existing shopping centers to include local boutiques, gift shops, clothing stores, and maybe an antique shop!
• Adult Entertainment: Wine & Craft Bar - A classy spot for brunch, small plates, trivia nights, bingo, or even activities like candle-making.
• Event Center: A micro venue for small weddings, community events, and baby or bridal showers.

This is just my opinion, but I believe these ideas could help grow Jackson County while keeping it local!

Here’s the key: We HAVE to support these businesses! They can’t thrive—and our town can’t prosper—without YOU. Marianna already has some incredible small businesses, but many struggle because we don’t get out and support them as much as we could.

As we kick off a new year, I wanted to take a moment to address something important. If you notice small businesses, including Calm Your Soul, raising prices this year, please know it’s not a decision made lightly.

Every essential service we rely on to operate efficiently—like HoneyBook, QuickBooks, and GoDaddy—has increased their prices significantly. On top of that, the cost of goods and supplies continues to rise across the board, from glassware to garnishes and everything in between.

Despite these challenges, we’re committed to serving you with excellence and continually improving our offerings. This year, we’re excited to share that we’re upgrading many aspects of Calm Your Soul, including a brand-new custom 6-foot bar build, enhanced décor options, and more upgrades to elevate your event experience.
