Join us on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022 for the TDCJ Vocational Fair at the Wynne Unit in Huntsville!

This event is an opportunity for inmates to highlight their skills to participating employers in the fields of diesel mechanics, electrical work, and welding.

Planned activities for the fair include electrical demonstrations; performing welding tests; tours and interactions with the mechanical shop, the welding shop, and the diesel mechanic career and technical education classes. Additionally, employers will have a chance to listen to a presentation from a second-chance employer.

The fair is a collaborative effort between the Correctional Institutions Division, Facilities Division, Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Logistics Division, Reentry and Integration Division, Windham School District, and Lee College.

God isn’t even aware that you have burdens. God is to busy loving you.
Burdens are a choice. You have freewill to choose your reality. The energy of your creator doesn’t even understand burdens. The vibration you choose is literally your business. God is only love and your freewill cannot be interfered with. You can be in this world and not be of this world. 🌹❤️

Got my baby back after 3 years of hell ! I waited 7 1/2 hrs parked in the same spot in 98 degree heat but I’d do it again ! This is one happy Momma 🌹❤️

Often people think that joy is hysterical excitement, and it truly isn't. Sometimes it can be, and it can be fun to be hysterically excited at a party or dancing around your own living room, but actually, joy comes from the root of the energy of peace. Joy can feel like peace, calm, and contentment. Joy and peace are on the same energy scale. So if you are struggling to feel joy because you haven't felt it for a long time, go a little lower down the scale as you experiment over the next three to six months and find activities, people, and places that bring you contentment, peace, a gentle lift in your mood, your experience, and keep experimenting and seeing what you can do to bring in more things that bring you joy.

So tomorrow would have been my 16th birthday. I died a little over 9 months ago. . . I thought I was going to try acid/lsd for the very first time. What I got from a friend wasn't acid at all. . . It was 25I NBOME. . . It sent me into convulsions and almost killed my friend and 2 brothers as well. 25I is a synthetic research chemical that is passed off to many unsuspecting kids as L*D, bath salts, Molly/ectasy. Delivery methods can be droplets, blotter paper, tablets, powders or candy. Think of it as a psychedelic hallucigen combined with methamphetamine. I died 3 minutes before the first responders arrived. So I won't be getting my driver's license this year or going to prom. I won't be earning a letterman jacket for football, wrestling, swim or track. All I can tell you is that it just takes one time. . . My family and friends miss me dearly. I was smart, obviously good looking, popular and thought I could get away with just about anything. . . My parents warned me all the time about the dangers of drugs. . . I just thought it couldn't happen to me. I hope you make a better choice than me and just stay away from anything you might be trying to get high off of, because it just isn't worth it!

Mark your calendars, the TDCJ Summit will be held on Saturday, September 24th, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Northside Activity Center in San Antonio.

Similar to the former PACT (Public Awareness – Corrections Today) Conference, leaders will assemble to offer presentations related to current events. Partner agencies and TDCJ division representatives will be available for questions. Anyone who would like to learn more about criminal justice is invited to attend, including inmate families, advocates, community leaders, prison ministries, and those with an interest in volunteering or learning about our employment opportunities.

Historically, PACT events were scheduled on an annual basis. As we plan TDCJ Summits, we will explore offering future events in different regions of the state on a more frequent basis.
