The landscapers blew a belt, so my grass couldn’t get mowed on time. Which made me have to turn away my tent crew at @partytimeeventsmi, who were already experiencing scheduling challenges. Our tent, tables and chairs for the wedding happening this weekend were loaded into the trailers, and I had nowhere for them to go. Our guys work hard to fit client event set ups into just a couple days each week, and I feel bad being the thorn in their side. They never hesitate to help me out when I need.

A lot of life happened in the past 3 years. It’s not always ALL about business. We’re a family owned and operated establishment. This is the real stuff that happens in between the pretty pictures.
Pregnancy at the Villa with a toddler was challenging. I wanted to do more than my body could handle, which did land me in the hospital at 27 weeks for a reality check. Luckily, everyone was fine. Doctor’s orders were “you need to act like you’re pregnant.” I’m a do-it-yourselfer. But these experiences humble you and help you realize that you can’t and shouldn’t do it alone.
The Villa has been at the center of our lives. We’re so grateful to share it with you all and make it a part of your memories too 💫

One day, Mason tells me that he wants to start training for this triathlon called an Ironman. I could tell that by the time he mentioned it to me, he had already made up his mind about embarking on the most physically challenging thing he’s ever done, by far. It felt like we had enough going on… New baby, new home, new life, he’s fresh in a new position at work and of course the Villa but hey, who am I to shut him down!?
There were times he wanted to give up. There were times I wanted him to give up. It’s your dedication on the hard days that prove your grit.
An Ironman Triathlon is a race consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22 mile run completed in that order, a total of 140.6 miles.
One month after I gave birth to Noelle, we were packing the car to drive our family down to Chattanooga for the race. I had RSV, ruptured both my ear drums due to an infection (which means I was essentially deaf). I was a freaking mess. Thank God, by race day, I was somewhat functional. The support crew clocked some serious steps that day, working our way through the course to catch Mason at each transition and even several times during his run. He crushed it, and hasn’t stopped since. We’re so proud of our #Irondad 💪🏻

It has come to my attention that a family owned and operated business should talk about being family owned and operated. I’ll start the official story when Mason asked me to marry him, in 2018. We both lived and worked in the Lansing area. We were on the hunt for venues between my family and his, and landed here in #marshallmi. We stayed at the Villa on Verona for our wedding weekend, and our entire family saw this incredible place that, at the time, we had no idea would one day be our home.
It takes a village to run the Villa. It takes determination and dedication to raise little humans alongside our careers and hobbies. We’re so thankful for your support in this dream to create a space where any day is your day.
