What a year 2024 has been at The Bird and the Book. This happy crew from the "Make the Yuletide Gay" tour, featuring Flamy Grant, Crys Matthews and Spencer LaJoye (and friends!) expresses exactly what we love about this pub: Fellowship, fun and community.
As we head into our dark weeks so the staff can enjoy the holidays, we wish you and all of us more of the same in 2025. We will need all of that and more to get through the next stretch together.

It's the last Weird Movie Wednesday of the year, and it's a holly and jolly one! Join host Lea Yoder for the He-Man & She-Ra Christmas special (1985) and the INFAMOUS Star Wars Holiday Special (1978)! Lea will also be collecting items (or cash) for Hurricane Helene relief; needed items include hygiene materials, batteries, flashlights, sleeping bags, "Hot Hands," tents, charcoal, first aid materials, non-perishable/shelf stable foods, trash bags, and cleaning supplies.

It's our last week of the year, and wow is it a big one!
We kick things off with our weekly Constitution Roundtable on Wed. at 5, followed by a very special holiday edition of Weird Movie Wednesday at 7, featuring the Star Wars Holiday Special and the He-Man/She-Ra one as well!
Thursday at 7, enjoy the hilarious "Santaland Diaries," a fun (and FREE) comedy about one man's (mis-)adventures as a Santaland elf at Macy's department store.
Friday, celebrate the solstice in grand style with Ekstasis' annual Yule Ball! The gala starts at 6, and tickets are $15 inadvance or $20 at the door. We'll have special vendors on site and great music: Dress up!
And to cap things off, it's our very mery holiday Drag Bingo! Host Tyra Von Shade brings the holly and the jolly as well as the glam in a $15 show for adults (18+) that benefits Rose Dynasty.

Our last weekend of the year is PACKED with fun!
Thursday is a hilarious performance of "The Santaland Diaries" by Jeremy Cooper-Joiner. This free show starts at 7 p.m. The show has adult language and themes! (Donations will be accepted to support the production.)
Friday is Ekstasis' second-annual Yule Ball! This holiday gala starts at 6 p.m.; tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
Saturday is our fab finale: Drag Bingo! Hosted by Tyra Von Shade, this 18+ show costs $15 (cash) and is expected to sell out, so call ahead for tickets! Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 8 p.m. Proceeds benefit Rose Dynasty.
