29 years ago today while working in my store I got a phone call from the hospital telling me we lost a dear friend Dick Curless and asking me to inform the media etc. Dick was always there for me and many others. His memory lives on in those of us who knew and loved him.
Later that evening I got a call from another hospital telling me my granddaughter was born

Yesterdays Pine Tree State Country Music Assoc., Inc. 25th Special Awards Show was amazing. I want to send out a huge thank you to all who made it such a great day. Don Nickerson (our country gentleman) and Country Mist did such a great job playing and backing up individuals. Other awesome performers were Peter Allen, Bobby Le, Dennis Moro, Kevin Overlock, Per Hanson, Ed Stubbs, 2 for Jackson, Kim Curry and Mike Preston, ROADHOUSE and Whiskey Bent Band Maine.
A special thank you to our fantastic emcee Kenny Tibbetts. Kenny has emceed 23 out of our 25 Award Shows. He is loved by so many and does such a great job keeping things running so smooth.
Thank you Kathy White, our secretary, for tending the door and all her help.
Also thank you to Ed and Debbie Stubbs for taking care of the raffles. U can see why Ed got that special appreciation award. He is always willing to help out where needed for all the assocs.
And Thank You Skips Lounge for allowing us to hold this event there, You were all so kind and helpful.

So sad to post this tonight. I just found out we lost a great friend of many of us. Jackie Harmon put her heart and soul in to promoting country music as president of DECMA. Condolences go out to her family, RIP Jackie.

ATTENTION: If the Lewiston shooter is not caught the authorities will not allow the The Silver Spur to open this weekend. If that happens we will reschedule the opry/induction show. Please keep watch on here for update and follow the news. Will post more details soon. Any questions u can call me at 207-459-8357. Please pray for Lewiston and all effected. Also that he will be caught soon and no more loss of lives.

About Maine Ole'Opry
Criteria is as follows:
The Maine Ole'Opry was started in 2005 by Joan Cole and sponsored by the Pine Tree State Country Music Assoc.,Inc.. It is incorporated under the charter of The Pine Tree State Country Music Assoc.,Inc. In 2007 inductions into the Maine Ole'Opry were started. Performers inducted are chosen by the Opry management. There shall be two inductees each year unless decided differently by management. The Maine Ole'Opry is made up of NOW performing country music artists. Artists who are no longer performing may be inducted as honorary member at management discretion. Inductees are chosen for their talent, stage presence, dedication, knowledge of country music, audience appreciation and how they relate to other Opry m.

PTSCMA members! We have made a revision to our by-laws. Old by-law #11 says that members that live outside of Maine can not vote on anything. This was deleted. Reason being we have several members that do not reside in Maine. These members have played in Maine, played with and/or know several Maine artists. We (all our officers) feel that since they are showing their support of PTSCMA and Maine artists they should be allowed to vote for who gets awards etc. They can also send in nominations for awards and the Opry.
