Hellloooo! It's been so long since I posted, and this garland is one of the reasons why! I REALLY wanted to do a pie theme for fall this year, and little did I know that it would take off like it did! I have spent all of October + early November cranking these pie garlands out. I am so grateful and pleasantly surprised that they got so popular, so fast! I would say that with Etsy, these usually take some time, but this was one of those rare, immediate successes. Beginning of August is a nostalgic time for me and my biz...

It was DAY ONE of being my own boss, 9 years ago today. I had a little bit of a plan, but not a grand one. A new-ish baby, a department restructure that led to my exit, a healthy dose of creativity and resourcefulness, a supportive partner, and postpartum anxiety.

It took another year to get my Etsy shop making a little money and going in a general, real direction. I did odd jobs, babysitting, sewing alterations, reselling...a little of this and that while I figured it out.

Fast forward 9 years. I am not rich, I am not even all the way where I want to be in my business. But I am still here. I have what I would consider to be a successful Etsy business- profitable, debt free, daily income, and FREEDOM. I work around my own life and schedule. I am at everything my kids have going on. I had a second baby since then, and did not have to ask anyone for time off or figure out what to do after whatever maternity leave I could get. None of this has come without sacrifice and lean times. But has it been worth it? Oh, yes.

Hey friends! I have been wanting to create a back to school prop for a WHILE! I finally landed on what I wanted to make, but I do think it's a little late to do a proper Etsy launch for these. I am launching just on Facebook at this point, though I MAY sneak in a printable on Etsy if I can! If you would like to order, go ahead and PM me to set up your order- you won't see these in the shop this year!

It's time for back to school! Grab your back to school photo prop for the first day of school! These are $7 each or 2/$12. Circles are made with a sturdy cardstock backing, and are 8.25" wide, with a plastic stick attached on the back. All grades available + choose your pattern from: blue splatter/tie dye (white letters); pastel splatter/tie dye (black letters); red buffalo plaid (white letters), pink buffalo plaid (purple letters); or "lined school paper" (navy letters). Solid colors also available upon request. Pickup is just south of Medina square, created in a smoke and pet free home. PM with any questions!

Behind the camera! I am still using my trusty (very) old iPhone to take product pics! This is behind what a cupcake topper setup looks like- no windows in my kitchen, so I fake a countertop wherever the best light is coming in!

Hello & Happy June! It feels like a good time to do my occasional "Meet the Maker" post, so here it is! I'm Tiffany- owner, designer, and creator behind Empty Nest Home Goods, a shop for handmade, boutique party decor. I left my 9-5 in non profit about 9 years ago, and after a few odd jobs and side hustles, started really focusing on my handmade business idea about 7 years ago now.

I enjoy being creative and watching my ideas take off and bring other people joy. What I love even more is being in control of my time, and able to enjoy my life and my family while I work.
