It's that time of year again. Please, my friends, if you all donated $5 or $10 it would make such a huge difference. How easy we needlessly spend that much every day on a coffee, or fast food. This is healthier. 💜🙏🏼💜

The story of why...

So, ever since I was about the age in this picture, I’ve worked at auto dealerships and they always had food trucks on the lot. You know the kind I’m talking about. White, non descript, with the standard fare. I always told my mom that there should be gourmet food trucks and we could share all our great family recipes with the world. By the way, she’s the pretty lady on the left, and that’s me on the right and my son, who is 37 now, was about 3 then...

Ever since then, it has become a distant dream of mine and in March of 2017, I quit my job to follow that dream. Meanwhile, my mom had been diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and we were struggling along with the effects of this awful disease. I would reminisce about the days we used to talk about having a truck and her working on it, and I would tell her when it was up an running, she could come help me cook. It would make her smile and her eyes just light up. Unfortunately, she passed away last May, 2017 before I could ever take her up into the truck. But her spirit is there with us every single day. I can feel her energy all around me.

The truck is purple, because that is the universal color for dementias of all kinds, including Lewy Body and Alzheimer’s Disease. It is in my mom’s honor, and it will hopefully educate people to the most rampant and life robbing disease with no cure out there.

We love you Mom and your grandkids and great grandkids love you too, Mema.
