Fashion Model - Anna Knight
With well over 60,000 views, Anna's video has been featured on blogs across the country, including Reel Models and CNN Sports. Cinematographer Michael Allen created Anna's reel to inspire other models, agencies, photographers and film makers with the new technology of fusion HD video and photography using the Canon 5d Mark II HDDSLR camera. We think this reel is the prototype for modeling agencies across the country. One key distinction is the use of HD. Some models will try to cut corners, using a poor compilation of old photos and low quality video, the important thing to know is that you have to have a video that is professional if you want to attract professional jobs. Case and Point - Anna Knight has already scored jobs with such celebrities as Jamie Foxx and the Michael Jackson Legacy Companies.

Hot new trends - engagement films for memphis brides! Our short films are creative and unique, filmed in full frame HD, the quality is beautiful! For this film we came up with a simple theme, and captured Jennifer & Toni in love and having fun! We shoot film style cinematography, the old days of video are gone....we use the same techniques that we use to shoot short films, steady cam, slidecam, lockdown, manual focus pull, and edit using final cut and custom soundtracks from our indie music studios using current singer songwriter bands from Memphis, Nashville and New York.

Working with over 20 crew members on location is challenging, fun, and really hard work. We got an early start around 8:30 am and shot late into the evening. The stylists and makeup artists went all out for some creative, modern, and cutting edge looks for the shoot.
For the short film, Michael came up with a bit of a twist on the typical, posh wedding photo session, as you will see with the film.
The designers at the magazine created an environment of world couture. Chic couture style was the artistic direction, over 13 beautiful gowns from 6 of the hottest designers in the country. The world couture theme of the shoot covered a proper British theme set in the English countryside, to a hot and firely Spanish theme set in old world charm, to the Greek lands near the Mediterranean Sea, with scenes from a Paris town manor, and finally flavors of India and the Orient.

Our beautiful models offer a glimpse to brides to be on how these dresses will look, as well as breaking from traditional styles by seeing what brides are wearing across the globe.

Anna's Senior High Portrait Session
Memphis Portrait Photographer Michael Allen shoots edgy, artistic Senior High Portrait Sessions that students love. In this session, Anna Hendricks and I spent one morning shooting from Arlington to Downtown Memphis to capture some beautiful images for Anna's yearbook and senior portraits. Students love my "rockstar" style portrait sessions, breaking away from the traditional "old school" portraits with bland backdrops.
One of the fun things to do is scout for unusual spots to do these photo sessions. Memphis has so much history, from the Main Street Arts District, to Sun Studios and the Mississippi Riverfront.
Portraits from these sessions are great for Senior Announcement Cards, Wall Posters, Coffee Table Books, really cool music videos like this from Animoto, and of course, great photos for your pages.

Vintage Wedding Dress - Memphis Wedding Photographer
The theme of the shoot is {Vintage Design in Modern Times}. A behind the scenes short film of the lastest fashion shoot with Southern Bride.
The film was shot on location with photographers Michael Allen of www.michaelallenphotography.com and Brian K Crain of www.weddingindesign.com -The two photographers have teamed up to shoot not only high end weddings, but commercial projects. The team shot several thousand photographs {The editors narrowed images down to about 20 or so of the best) for the upcoming fashion spread in www.southernbride.com magazine. Michael shot some film footage on the new Canon 7d HDDSLR camera to create the short film for the magazine.
The team consisted of Southern Brides editor Lynn Walker and art director Kat Ballard. The hairfashions were created by Janice Allen of www.estonsalon.com with era styles from 1920, 1930, 1940 & 1950. Makeup was provided by Lauren Partin and Abby Baynes of Sephora in Mobile AL.
The shoot was set on an incredible vintage site near the gulf coast at The Hotel Magnolia. Dresses were provided by Joan Shum, Monique Lhuillier, Watters Bride, Allure Bridal, Mon Cheri Bridal, Maggie Sottero, Alfred Angelo, Dolly Couture, Julius Bridal, Castle Bride, Cheryl King Couture, Fashion accessories provided by Avant Bride NYC, Model Bride, & Tejani Jewelry.
